Add to it the fact that the Girl DIED.

I don’t know about double standard. He was beaten because he was trying to defend his friend and stop the animals.
What I don’t get is, out of everyone on the bus, 2 people were victims, 5 people were the ones committing the crimes, and everyone else on the bus? What were they doing? Why didn’t any one try to stop them?
Ok forget them. Let’s say they were scared they’d get beaten with the iron rod like the victim’s friend. :rolleyes: But what about when the girl and her friend were dumped off the bus?
According to the witness, her friend, they dumped the bodies and left. So, no one was around to hurt them if they tried to help.
Then why didn’t anyone stop to pick them up and take them to the hospital? Why didn’t anyone stay by them and wait until police arrived?
Instead, gawked at them and made their own assumptions as to what happened and then left, like it was nothing… Pathetic.

The bus was not meant for carrying passenger from one place to other place…
actually the bus was off duty that day…it was owned by a travels company…which used to lend it for private tours
the driver and his brother were drinkng all day and picking passengers to earn some extra bucks to buy more liquor that day…
before raping this girl they robbed a carpenter…there were no passengers on that bus other than these two victims all other were friends..

If Desi women often don’t report their rape, what are the chances of a guy reporting it? In the case of a raped woman, some people will uphold the disgusting view that “she had it coming”…but in the case of a guy, he’s more likely to be mocked and the possibility of a man being raped will be quesioned/doubted/debated. A raped woman will be stigmatized…but in the case of a guy, he’ll be thought of as lucky by some. In your rather uncommon scenario…the chopped jewel and the injured female friend’s testimony will bolster his case.

No it did not.
All initial reports and news were focusing the female victim and the remorseful remarks and candle lighting etc. were focused on the female victim. You can read those news.
It was not until after several days when the male victim was brought in to the light and his interview was published.
His interview even made Police to file lawsuit against Zee TV. 
Anyways, this is not about media only.
It is about the general mindset that a male/man being a victim of aggression does not get same sympathy as a female/woman would get.
P.S. Do not get it wrong, the male pride is still on.

Because the issue here is about the lack of justice for female rape victims in India. This wasn’t a random attack in which both were beaten and only the woman received attention. This was an attack motivated by rape. Naturally, the woman is going to receive more attention.

Plus, this is Rarest of Rare case, and the Girl’s condition was ten times as worse a guy’s.. She would Obviously get all the attention dude. Manhandling a man and Raping a woman are two VERY Different offences buddy.
Zee TV “had to be booked” as you cannot bring into open the views of the primary witness without the permission of Police or Law first… !! **

This is not a contest between the guy friend and female victim.
Any victim regardless of male or female deserves attention and the survivor should not get neglected.
And lastly, the charges against Zee TV should not be processed when the father of the female victim agreed to have her name revealed.
