Now the guys all want to see each others pictures. Chaltahai's polishing his bifocals in anticipation of a few hunky pics of Boyz99 and Stud-U-Like Fraudia.
It always ends up like this no matter how good the intentions are to begin with. tsk, tsk.
I just figured that's what Fraudz wanted anyway. But I never thought that he was actually pimping lil '99 around, until his last few posts.
But going back to the thread.....do Pakis in britain have a lower standing.
Someone had compared the situation to the number of Indians in the US. But there is no racial or national bias towards Indians in the US.
The situation in England however, the paki ghettos involved in Bradford riots etal, could they be fueling these sentiments among the less fortunate brits?
Do Pakis in Britain have a lower standard than what? Are you basing your assumptions on the confused ramblings of one drunk?
I don't think you can compare the situations in Britain and America at all. US is basically a hotch potch of immigrants as far as I see it, whereas European countries have local populations as well.
I've never lived in a Paki ghetto, although I spent 3 years in a white one for three years as a kid, so I don't know what fuels what in those places. Generally though, people get on fine with the odd exception. People at the lower end of the social ladder always have problems no matter what nationality.
i think education and experience are key, people with less education and less experience amongst different nationalities wil tend to be more discriminatory towards them! and on the other side, pakistanis in ghettos with less education will tend to be negative towards whites, it really goes both ways, not at the same level of course cuz of the obvious difference in numbers between the two groups, but i did hear that in some areas there are no-go areas for whites, if your white and u go there , your done like dinner. but anyway, interesting thread, ppl from the uk would know better, im just goin on about what i've read.

X-treme: because you have never lived in a pakistani ghetto doesn't mean that you don't or can't understand the dynamics of that segment of the population. The term Paki in itself, according to some, is derogatory. A community/race/religion has to reach a critical mass before people attached collective monikers or sterotypes to them.
What is the cause of it? Is it harder to assimilate for this band of people into the national fabric of britain?
There are as many Indians in england as there are Pakistanis, why is it that that derogatory term is borne out of one part of the south asian community while neglecting to touch the other.

kinda the same reason why pakistanis are also called dot heads due to Indians here in US.
People coming up with racist terms dont get into detailed sociocultural analysis.
Think of a country and someone has a racist term for them.

Have never heard of any such thing in US.After reading your post asked couple of white colleagues, they didn't have any clue. I do recall being called 'SAND NIGGERS' by some white kids.
I think the point is that once the population reaches a critical mass, stereo types have direct conotations. for ex, "sand nigger" is an obvious reference to Arabs. Now we all know that Indians and Pakistanis are not arabs but I know that 20 yrs ago the south asian population was not what it is today and some idiots lumped all Dark Skin people from near east and the subcontinent together and the term 'Sand Nigger' for Indians, Pakistanis and Arabs.
The Pakistani community has a longer legacy in England (or atleast since 1947) and Brits due to the colonial legacy know the history of India/Pakistan. So for them to single out a particular portion of the subcontinent for derogatory insults while not attaching the same to another is what I am questioning. (I do admit, there might be some derogatory term for Indians in UK that I am not aware of)
EXACTLY!, chalta-hai, what you are failing to understand is, when some racist wants to isult a south asian, he does not stop to ponder whether this south asian is pakistani or indian. “hmmmmmmmm i better not call this dark kid a paki, he might be indian”…i highly doubt the thought goes through the guys mind! for example when i was in Vancouver, my friend there told me that some people refer to all south asians as hindus, there is a large majority if sikhs in vancouver, bu tthe ignorants dont care what religion they are or where they are from, to them, we are al a bunch of hindus! you are giving these racists too much credit, belieivng that they have the mental capacity to differentiate classes, religions and ethnic back grounds!
