While I have to aappreciate President Musharraf’s candour (he is reported to have said"there is some sensitivity") in responsding to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s offer of aid for the quake victims, some basic practical imperatives must be kept in view…The very nature of the critical supplies needed at this hour makes the neighboruing countries best positiooned to help…If we just consider tents and blankests and the dire urgency and quantum in whcih these needed, boththe production capacity and transport would favour INDIA greatly…
