these guys have been around for a good while, and these folks are quite old. unfortunately, no audience for this sorta music in a bollywood plagued country. i've been fortunate enough to watch them play in a tiny little room. educated fun uncles.
the song kandisa itself is an old orthodox syrian-christian hymn in aramaic, from kerala. these hymns are pretty much lost because the european colonizing christians burnt up all the orthodox texts and bibles in kerala and banned the use of aramaic because they were too "jewish" for european christianity.
