import gas from Iran through Pakistan paying both these per unit....and depend on them...

Idiot…..The gas pipe line is supposed to go via Pakistan and for that India will pay you a huge amount every year for renting your area.

Iran has claimed in its statement that it would review economic ties with all the countries which did not support it. That means it would have to review economic ties with Germany, Japan.. and even maybe Pakistan(remember Pakistan abstained)..
If Iran does that, Iran is living in a fools paradise. How is Iran going to sustain itself. I know it is Iran's problem but then looking at a country like Iran, we all would have to worry. It would begin to blame the rest of the world for its economic deprivation and then the country would begin to export Islamic terrorists...
I believe that by not voting for Iran, India has achieved master stroke in diplomacy. India knows that Iran can ill afford to antagonise all the countries which did not support Iran and it endeared itself to world community by taking a principled stand angainst proliferation...

It is you (and the Indian government) that is living in a fools paradise. Your government’s vote for America has been roundly condemned in India, and has sent your relations with Iran into free fall. After all it was the Indian ministers and diplomats who were summoned to explain their voting against Iran not other countries.
India desperately NEEDS new energy resources to sustain it’s economy in the coming years, and without them it will be in dire straits. Just look at China nicely building pipelines across Central Asia, and acquiring new energy resources from Africa to the America’s, while India has just shot itself in the foot.

It is true that India desperately needs energy resources to sustain its economy. The Indian Govt unlike the Pakistani is not foolish to put all its egg in one basket. There are alternatives.
Iran's refusal for the pipeline might actually be a blessing in disguise since the pipeline anyway has to pass through Pakistan

I suggest you check your facts. The orgasms are on the part of 'The Hindu', other Indian papers and Indian politicians as a whole, as well western correspondents. But despite any public statements what is clear is that India's relations with Iran are severely damaged, as it was Indian diplomats and ministers summoned by the Iranian's to be given a dressing down.

What alternatives? Your government has publicly gone on record in the previous weeks and months to say that LPG, and the gas pipeline from Iran are the only VIABLE options for India.
