From the continuity of Modi’s call to Pakistani PM, this is a step in right direction taken by either of the countries. Its in the interest of both countries to have the best of bliateral relations and keep the dialogue going.
What I sincerely hope is that no stupid attack (whether real or conspirator) foils the plan to peace
ISLAMABAD: India’s Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar will travel to Pakistan in March, seven months after foreign secretary-level talks were cancelled by India. “In accordance with the Prime Minister’s directive, will be undertaking a SAARC Yatra to all South Asian countries including Pakistan in March,” spokesperson of the Indian External Affairs Ministry Syed Akbaruddin said on Tuesday. “We stand ready to talk with Pakistan in accordance with the Simla Agreement on all issues including Jammu & Kashmir,” he said. Akbaruddin, however, did not reveal the exact dates for Jaishankar’s visit. Relations between the neighbouring countries soured over increased firing along their borders and India called of foreign secretary level talks in August. Earlier this month, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over telephone. Sharif said Modi had informed him about the upcoming visit of the Indian foreign secretary adding that Pakistan would welcome the revival of bilateral dialogue. Later, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Kashmir will be an integral part of negotiations between Pakistan and India in the upcoming talks. He said that India had to take first step towards resumption of talks since it was New Delhi that suspended the process.

tamasha probably on order of Obama. RSS goons were jumping like monkeys but they probably didn't get obama support for it. Perhaps the business sector in india also told modi to shut down the monkey show.

It has something to do with India's campaign for UN security council permanent seat which its very close to seal the deal with.
Re: Indian foreign secretary to visit Pakistan in March
India will be a permanent member of the Security Council, preferably with Pakistan on board by giving some incentives...at the end, if Pakistan doesn't come on board, it will happen anyways. it's in the interest of Pakistan to see a neighbor in the Security Council ad work harder to get in the elite club sometimes in the future.

AsSalaamo Alaikum,
You never did return to the other thread to clarify what you meant by
and if that’s any indication of the thinking, then It’d be in the best interest of every country around India if it didn’t get a PSC membership considering its’ populace carry that mindset about other nations.
Indian foreign secretary to visit Pakistan in March
I think it’s been 10-20 yrs since India has been dreaming of becoming a security council member. Any other country with some self-respect would hv given it up long ago but well we are talking about the world rape headquarter with a great record of human rights violations so yes it certainly has achieved some milestones to deserve a SC seat

a neighbor who spills water or blocks it through dams, a neighbor who continues to commit excesses in disputed region... what do you think India will do as SC member if by any chance resolution about Kashmir is presented in UN?
