Devyani Khobragade, Indian Deputy Consul to New York, USA, whose arrest and strip-search in New Yourk touched off a diplomatic spat between the India and US. She was asked to leave the country.
A U.S. government official confirmed to NBC News that Khobragade was given diplomatic immunity after the Indian government moved her from a post at the Indian Consulate in New York to the Indian Mission to the United Nations for precisely that reason.
Re: Indian diplomat indicted, asked to leave the U.S.
There is no way any 'diplomat' is treated in this way. I wonder how US Govt response if any US Diplomat in India, or in any other country, if treated same as her.

Indian Government is acting promptly... they removed the security hurdle from American Embassy in New Dehli... besides that... non diplomat personal can not use American Club in embassy... It is tax free... and according to Indian law.. this flexibility is only for diplomats...
