Indian cricketers questioned over spot-fixing allegations
Three Indian cricketers have been taken in for questioning by police over charges of spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.
The players belong to the Rajasthan Royals team and have been identified as S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila by the team boss, Raghu Iyer.
The team said it had “a zero-tolerance approach to anything that is against the spirit of the game”.
It said it would co-operate with the authorities in the investigation.
Media reports said the players were taken from Mumbai for questioning late on Wednesday.
They are expected to appear in court in Delhi on Thursday.
The sixth season of the IPL, which is considered to be the world’s showcase for Twenty20 cricket, is currently under way in India.
Top Indian and international players take part, contributing to what is the world’s richest cricket tournament.
Re: Indian cricketers questioned over spot-fixing allegations
Conspiracy theory is doing the rounds. It is heard that Harbajan and Dhoni had a role in setting Sreesanth up. That said it is just sad & stupid that the cricketers are doing this. With the increased attention, the repercussions of getting caught are huge. It is difficult to believe that a cricketer of Sree's stature would do this.
Sidebar joke about Sree
Why are the batsmen confused when Sree is bowling to them???
.......
.......
They are confused on whether to hit Sree or the ball :)

Re: Indian cricketers questioned over spot-fixing allegations
Corruption...in IPL. That's absurd.
India is hub for all kinds of betting. Until they go after the bookies this will keep happening no matter how much money cricket boards throw at the players.
Re: Indian cricketers questioned over spot-fixing allegations
Exactly b class cricket for c class kinds of ppl. Daroo p, paan khaa, ipl dekh aur so jaa. Even indians with some class dont watch this garbage, i hope.
Re: Indian cricketers questioned over spot-fixing allegations
B-class cricket.. Hope you know what cricket is. Just tell your players that there are some playing spots left in the IPL teams. See how they jump up and down with joy.
