What India deserves for a coach is somebody like MOHINDER AMARNATH or ASHOK MALHOTRA or ANSHUMAN GAEKWAD or MADAN LAL or YASHPAL SHARMA
Prerequisites for the job :
-Must have a pot-belly
-Must have never come within 10 feet of a laptop
-Must be political-minded
-Must understand that Tendulkar & Ganguly are GODS...not to be messed around with
- Must not be able to string together two sentences of coherent angrezi during an interview.
- A mediocre record as an ex-player is preferred but not mandatory.

- Paan chewing is strictly not allowed during coaching.
- Please correspond with us only by postal mail. (The guy who 'opens' our emails for us is on vacation)

See my friend...I am all for desis like SUNIL GAVASKAR or RAVI SHASTRI because they come across as people who are analytical, have good communication skills and have kept up with the times.
But look at the the DESI coaches we have had in the past :
KAPIL DEV (may have been a great player but lacks some brain cells in my opinion. Does he come across as a strategist to you ?)
MADAN LAL (mediocrity personified)
GAEKWAD (same as above - was a crap bastman in his time)
Sadly, these are the same people who seem to be in the running again.
AMARNATH (actually flaunted lack of knowledge of computers as a virtue in his last interview - has hardly any decent coaching experience)
ASHOK MALHOTRA(swallowed a football...can't run to save his life...barely got to play for India)

Another gem for coaching is Cheetan Chauhan - played in over 50 innings as a opener but never scored past 90. Has a pot belly and a good yes-man for the BCCI.
Kisi nay goo khaana hau tau India or Pakistan team ki coaching karay.

The pressure job is taking its toll. I think there must be a stress test for coaching candidates from now on.
This is too much, its just a game after all.
