Indian Christians protest hardline Hindu attacks Wednesday, May 30, 2007
NEW DELHI: Hundreds of Indian Christians, some shouting “hallelujah”, held a noisy but peaceful protest in New Delhi on Tuesday, demanding the federal government stop hardline Hindu groups from attacking them.
Christian groups have reported dozens of attacks on priests and institutions over the past year by right-wing groups, said to be linked to the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the country’s main opposition group. “This season of attacks on Christians must come to an end,” Joseph D’Souza, president of the All India Christian Council, said at the demonstration.
“Come to your senses, prime minister,” shouted protesters, some holding placards which read: “We are less than 2.5 percent of the population, why target us?” Prime Minister Manmohan Singh heads the centrist Congress party-led coalition, which received strong support in the 2004 elections from religious minorities like Muslims and Christians. But his government had not done enough to prevent violence against them, the protesters said.
This month, right-wing Hindus thrashed two Christian priests in public in the western state of Maharashtra, accusing them of trying to forcibly convert low-caste Hindus. In April, a Christian priest who was also the headmaster of a missionary school was beaten by Hindu activists in front of his family in the western state of Rajasthan, ruled by the BJP. “We have done so much for the country yet there are attacks against us,” Father Arul Anthony, one of the speakers, said. “This saddens us.” …

^ nazis werent atheist son, they were christians, most of the initial nazi success in elections were mostly due to their christian support and their opposition to communist (atheist).
Re: Indian Christians protest hardline Hindu attacks
if someone preaching you about their religion, even if you are not interested and even if you didn’t ask him about his religion then it is kind of forcing you to convert
i remember one incident where one christian missionary guy went to a village and saying that your god is not true and Jesus christ is the only god, then one villager told him , yes you are correct my god is not true and your god is true , so lets go and climb that hill and jump from there, as my god is not true and so i will die, and if your god is really true and you really believe him he should come for your rescue, lets see who will die and who will be alive
the villager is illeterate and don’t know what BJP and RSS is as it happened in south india where BJP and RSS don’t have any influenece and even for this incident the christian missionary started blaming on BJP and RSS like you guys are doing now blindly without knowing the actual facts
Re: Indian Christians protest hardline Hindu attacks
^^bottom line is......People don't see "signs" . Also, when nature strikes it kills everyone irrespective any religion.
^So true. Once a friend of mine went to a car mechanic for oil change. He was a hispanic christian. This happened just after the tsunami hit Indonesia. He asked my friend if he was a muslim. After knowing that he was a hindu, the mechanic told my friend that see the people in the east worshiped the devil and so god is punishing them. My friend, although a hindu, was visibily upset with this comment. He just rudly asked the mechanic to do his job and stop preaching.
And then there was Katrina. I don't know what the hispanic guy must be thinking.

Majority of the people who died in tsunami are either Muslims ( Indonesian part) , Buddhists (Sri lankan part) and christians (Indian part because most of the fisherman in tamilnadu are converted christians and the tsunami hit on Dec 26th and most of the christians gathered for prayers as most of the famous churches located at the sea shores )
But i hate people who see religion in everything, if you don't help any human in trouble then there is no meaning for anyone who says they believe in god
