Question time for sake of my general knowledge.

Do you guys get Indian channels in Pakistan? If yes then are they legal or they show them illegally.

How many channels you guys get? Do you have DTH service for Indian channels?

Cable operators run Indian channels illegally. They only show entertainment channels (Sony, Star Plus, Colors are being shown by almost all the cable operators). No News Channels are shown by any cable operator. some Music and movie channels like (Zee Cinema, etc) are also shown in some areas.

PS: Cable operators run their advertisement in between the commercial breaks on Indian channels to earn extra income

Also, do people also have digital satellite dishes at home which provides unrestricted access?

Pakistan does not have any DTH service

I think most of the channels have been digitalised and normally required decoders, etc. So Dish is not of any use now.

Regarding sports channels, we have ten sports, Star sports, etc. I'm not sure whether or not they are owned by Pakistani media groups.

Some of Indian dramas are shown by hum TV n Urdu 1

Thanks for the reply. I am guessing that you guys dont get Sony Six or Indian HD channels. HD channels are nice, they dont have commercials and you can even see what happens on the cricket ground while they show ads in normal channel.

You guys dont get Indian news channels, you are not missing anything.

Who needs Indian channels when Pakistani channels show plenty of indian shows and soaps?
