i remeber around the kargil battle there was one bbc documentry on india pakistan where they should both sides of the kashmir loc and they talked to military officers on both sides though i felt pakistan officers looked more aggresive
they showed both sides shelling each other across the loc while indian artillery was smart automatic bofors guns
the guns on the other side looked quite out date and out of mark i dont know which guns they were using but it was quite archaic one soldier to put one shell inside and other push the shell in with something and a third one fired the shell
did anyone pay attention to this? whats your opinion?
Pakistani Military
Hi kabir, I wouldn't agree with what you drew out of the documentary you watched. there is a strenghth balance problem between India and Pakistan but to think that our military is totally outdated is wrong-first thing is, India is more than 2 times our size with a much higher population in proprtion to ours; they have more money and resources and thats a fact so that does enable them to get new stuff every now and then, BUT, our armed forces keep updateing our machinery with hard work and excellent technical expertise. pakistan navy built the new Agosta recently with help from france and now they are making them on their own right here and around 2 yrs ago the PAF started making the F7P fighters with China and now they too are made here. artillery guns are mucg less complicated machines and we sure do have guns efficient enough to fire our missiles as far as Calcutta in the east of india or the Tamil areas in extreme south-so that pretty much enough. and whatever we lack in strength and material, our great forces cover for in the form of the fighting spirit and bravery as is evident throughout history before and after creation of Pakistan.
so we need not worry at all and one thing we must make sure we must not do is whine when the defence budget rises-any patrotic pakistani should be sane enough to understand our strategic location and position especially since sep 2001. we're surrounded by unpredictable nations left and right!
