India won "thanks to umpires"

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

you are also getting biased here

and second
if you have seen the today
when symond and hussy were given out , thoes were the most crucial moments of the match

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

^ Yaar...if you look at the last 3 hours of play in isolation....then you are right...those were crucial decisions....but like I said earlier....Ponting escaped LBW twice early on in the morning...when batting seemed very difficult....who knows what would have happened if Clarke/Symonds/tec had to come out to bat then.

Talking of crucial decisions, Koertzen gave Sangkarra wrongly out at a VERY CRUCIAL TIME in a recent Aus-SL Test match....so much so that ICC quietly removed Koertzen from the next game....If there is one team that should not complain about Umpiring mistakes...it is Australia my friend....they have been the beneficiary most often in recent times.

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

okay thanks for confirming that you did not watch the match or you are completely ignorant

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

:) ....

Re: India won “thanks to umpires”

Relax! Take it easy!

Since last weekend, I stopped watching Aajtak, ZeeNews and Channel 9. The Sydney test is history. I want to enjoy high class cricket encounter, and I did in this match. Thoroughly.

Congrats to India once again! Very calm, steady and measured response to very sharp captain and highly professional team. Brilliant cricket.

:k:

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

just see , when against decision goes you think bad umpiring standard and biasness
when in favour human error

doesn't seem funny to you
you easily forgot the wrong decisions that went against india, i mean rauf gave a exact same decision against tendulkar but no way you would mention that + decisions Some1 mentioned in his post
again the same bunch of stuff to show that error in this match is "Human Error"
i agree hussey and symonds were wrongly given out, but they were not horrendous decisions like we saw in sydney, these decisions we see in almost every test
again the arguments to show that these are human error and thoes are not
very funny
AND you keep saying how indian media complaining about the umpiring? Are u f'kin kidding me? Australian media went nuts over their own team. Have you read any articles from australian newspapers? They called for ponting to be sacked. They had polls, 80% people were against australia, 80%+ thought sydney test was not played in the right spirit by aussies and many more. i know ur blood boils when India win and thats just too bad
australian media are on their own players
not on umpires , mind you
the way they over appeal etc etc
total wrong stuff
but this doesn't mean , umpires are biased
and kick him out

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

Steve Bucknor was biased and deservedley kicked out .Not just one sydney test . He was like that for years .
with the help of technology India could have scored more runs agaisn Aus in the first innings .

Moreover we were not complaining about LBW decisions .By that count RP singh's dismissal was very marginal in Sydney . But a clear edge and a clear stumping .

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

if you have listen commentory at that time when indian commentator was shouting to give pointing out
the other commentator had said , billy do not give out if the boll pitch outside the line and struck out side the line but that would have been otherwise if that was with asad because he has the history of giving that out

just find the vedio of thoes shouts , bowl was pitched outside and struck outside
but indian commentators were shouting this is clear out , clear out

i have no problem with that
i call them human error "part of cricket"

but the way indian have highlighted in the last match , i just say they should thank umpire this time
otherwise their feeling will be heart :D

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

meherealone,

Whether you call it bias or incompetence bucknor was really bad in his job. Why do you call him an excellent umpire? Everyone passes their prime and when quality falls they should retire.

I find it hard to get over the fact that we had Aussies pinned at 137/6 in the 2nd test and got Symmonds out. The whole stadium heard the catch except Bucknor. That saved the Aussie loss. If Bucknor did not hear that loud click which everyone else did, he must be deaf. You tell me if he was deaf or incompetent or biased.

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

I think the bottomline is this :

In this Test Match - there were several wrong LBW decisions made (both in favor of and against the batsman - as I have elaborated above) at different times against both teams...so its difficult to tell who benefited as the net result. It is not correct to consider ONLY Hussey's or Symond's decision on the last day in isolation.

In the last Test Match - Australia were tottering at 140/6 when Symonds was not given OUT...there is no doubt in my mind that if he had been given out at that stage, Australia would have folded for less than 250 instead of around 450 they ended up scoring (that's a huge huge difference)....and India would not have had to chase that many runs in the 2nd innings.

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

One other thing - it seems very easy to say that since India won by only 72 runs, if Hussey/Symonds were not given out, Australia "could" have won (and that is a big "could").

But really the only reason the Aussies came so close was because the tail-enders Johnson/Clark batted with wild abandon and scored 70+ between themselves - they batted that way because they had nothing to lose at that point....I would have liked to see how Johnson would have batted, if say Australia were 360/7 when he came in.

My point is - under pressure , the Australians may not have made it, inspite of those two incorrect decisions.

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

just see at our own post
you didn't told that in this match if symond wouldn't have been given out , australia would have won

but you repeat symond was not given out in the last match and you declare bucknor biased , deaf etc etc

why not you call , billy and asad blind or biased

either call both biasness or both human error

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

i agree that he didn't done the job well
he is doing mistakes like billy and asad
there is a need of giving small laptop to umpire to verify before giving out :)
seriously
i had liked the ICC idea of giving apeals on on filed umpire dicisions

the same way , everyone heard the noise of inside edge of symond when he was given lbw
but billy gave him out so quick that surpise every one
so either he will also be deaf or blind or biased in favor of india

or both bucknor , billy and asad did human errors

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

u still don't got my point
see both the matches again
in last match you are seeing only few areas where decisions goes against india and saying india lost due to biasness

similarly you forgot that when hussy and symond were playing they were playing superbly and were scoring beautifly tilly they were given wrong out
there is no doubt if they would have been given wrong out , australia would have won

both were human error but calling one biasness and other human error is wrong
either call both biasness one in favor of india and one against
or call both human error

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

.... repeat

Re: India won "thanks to umpires"

Meherealone your point has been made. Thankyou.
