One-Day games have such a ch*t*a format....that even BD can beat Australia if their stars are aligned favourably (as we recently found out). Not to mention Kenya getting into the semi-final in the last WC.
Therefore, it is ridiculous that any team should go to such lengths in preparation to win the WC (or any One-Day Tournament for that matter) where "tukkay-baazi" rules the roost. India won the WC defeating Clive Lloyd's mighty West Indies after scoring a mere 183 in 60 overs in the finals. Pakistan won the WC after rain saved them from crashing out of the tournament at one point.
Making long-term preparation for the world cup is a farce as far as I am concerned unless you are heads and shoulders above the rest of the teams (e.g. Australia - before the Ashes brought them to the ground)
If the powers-that-be cannot change the format, they should at least get rid of One-match knockouts (make the finals best of 3 for example).
The guys who don't object to doctoring and tayloring pitches or dancing on them mid-game with spiked shoes shouldn't resort to second guessing reasons of schedule changes and that too over a year away! FOUR of your batsmen scored centuries, Afridi made a number of dreams come true yet Sehwag seems to have caused lingering damage to the psyche!

It was just a stupid statement which a very stupid person in the BCCI gave. But the way they all have defended it, it looks like they believed in the reason of cancellation of the tour. C’mon guys for once let your brains go to your head:cb:
We are not defending the comments of that "BCCI insider". We dont believe that is the reason for shifting the tour. None of us ever sided with that guy. But its some of u guys who try to highlight what he said rather than the offician stance of not playing newzeland at that time.

I so apologize for highlighting it, otherwise it was such a “well hidden fact” within the article that the whole world would have ignored that reason of BCCI cancelling the tour.

Then you could’ve simply said that whoever said that was a moron and the reasoning looks lame instead of calling the thread anti-India and what not. It was the person from BCCI who provided an opportunity to bashers/critics so why’d they let it go?
