Shouldn’t it be, he added. And as far as I know, Advani spoke about half a crore or so Bangladeshis most of whom have overstayed after expiry of their visas. Any other source would be better than this one.

Bangladesh has put on red alert the BDR (Bangladesh Rifles) along the 4,300 kilometer border as an instant measure to resist any likely push-in of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants, a media report quoted the Director General of the border forces as saying.**
The move comes after Bangladesh Foreign Ministry asserted afresh that no Bangladeshi citizen was staying in India unlawfully and rejected as “baseless and absurd” the report quoting officials that 20 million Bangladeshis live there illegally. **“No Bangladeshi lives in India illegally, nor had there been in the past,” **Foreign Secretary Shansher Mobin Chowdhury told reporters yesterday.
“We have asked our diplomatic mission in New Delhi to ascertain the fact as we are not officially informed of the developments,” The News Today quoted him as saying. Chowdhury also rejected a recent claim by Tripura Chief Minister about the existence of 53 anti-India bases in Bangladesh.

I think its a part of Indian society to daydream, most Indians want to get into bollywood and be the next sharukh khan.. I think their tendancy to believe in the unbelievable comes from their supersticious beliefs.. the Monkey man with steel claws is one of them. Just recently some officials from the BJP again stated the monkey was an ISI agent. 
Coming back to the topic of illegals in India, one has to take this story as baseless.
