I am not impressed from what I have seen of Uthappa. He has limited strokes and not much by way of footwork. Like I have said before, he may get a few decent scores on dead pitches but he is not somebody you want to open with against quality opposition on lively pitches. Unfortunately, there aren't too many choices for India.

Doordarshan must have had a nightmarish time succumbing to the overwhelming pressure of televising the next four matches with a seven-minute delay now after the recent claim of "We'll stand by Nimbus" by BCCI.

In any case, magnificient last-ball century. It was a great heated battle between the urgency in slog overs and the manner in which it was completed, regardless of the venue. One rarely gets to see this. Tonight was it.

Perfect dress rehearsal for Indian batting lineup. This is THE opportunity for Indian batting lineup to pull a WC for India. I don't see Tendi, Ganguly and Dravid (or he may go on) playing next world cup.
In fact this is going to be last world cup of may great players and they will try to pull a victory for their country Lara, Inzi, Tendi, Ganguly, Shoaib Akhter (if he plays), Shaun Pollock, Ponting (?), Jaysuriya etc. We are bracing for one hot contest !

That is exactly what India needs to concentrate on, their core batting line up. When it comes to winning, their bowlers can not get the job done. It has to be their batting, either batting first of chasing. As long as they make this their priority and their bowlers keep decent line and length, good fielding....India is a contendor.

WI looked very ordinary, unmotivated, tired and worn out. i noticed that during Pak tour too but then I thought they had a rough schedule..
they don't look ready for wc.
