Match reduced to 31 overs
Saffies in trouble, 21-2 in 8.2 overs. Should have been 3 down but De Villiers was given not out when he was clearly caught in slips

Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
4.1Khan to de Villiers, no run, whoah! Zaheer pitches it back of a length, on off stump, gets it to move away and just clip the bottom egde of the bat, and Tendulkar at first slip holds a neat catch, but umpire Dar doesnt react! What was wrong with that? Replays show a clear edge...oh ho ho!
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
From Cricinfo :
Going back to that catch off Zaheer to Tendulkar, de Villiers stood there and gestured that the ball had clipped his pad. Thats wrong, as every tv replay proved.
--------------
Ok...let me shout it loud....de Villiers is a CHEAT !!
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
de villiers gone
another one and gangu on hatrick ![]()
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
12.2 Ganguly to de Villiers, OUT, goddim! The ball pitches on middle stump, straightens, de Villiers gets forward and tries to defend with an angled bat, the ball clips the edge before hitting the pad and then bobs up ever so gently for Dhoni to move forward and take it
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
Saffies 31-4 in 13.1 overs.
In case of defeat, I am guessing Saffies will surely come up with an excuse that the pitch was unplayable ![]()
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
anyone care to share a link to watch the match?
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
Saffies 112-4 in 26 overs
85 runs partnership in 82 balls
Gibb 50*
Kemp 44*
36 runs added in the last 3 overs, however it could be too late for them. The pitch probably will not be playing tricks when India will bat, but you never know.
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
India is gifting away runs through Yuvraj/Chawla. There is nothing in the wicket for spinners. Unfortunately, there is no other part-time pacer other than Gangu.
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
Chamat by Gibbs on Zaheer.
119-4 in 27
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
damn great partnership
india has lost their strong position
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
another 4 and kemp reaches his 50, well played,
ramiz commenting on agarkar, "seen it all, done it all, still going strong"
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
excellent yorker by zaheer and gibbs gone
127-5 in 28.2,
Butcher(Boucher) is next
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
Boucher starts with a boundary
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
Ok..Gibbs gone.
Now I am bit surprised. If each bowler is allowed a maximum of 7 overs in this game, why did Dravid use Yuvraj/Chawla for 2 extra overs and loosen the pressure valve. Anybody can see that it is much difficult to put away pacers than spinners on this wicket.
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
133-5 in 29 overs, 2 more overs to go, lets see if they can reach 150

I think its 7 for one bowler and 6 each for other 4.
The last over will be bowled by Yuvraj or Chawla or it could be tendi
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
and tendi it is for the last over
6 of the first ball and gone on the next, 6 down

You are probably right, in which case Dravid's actions would make sense.
btw, I have to concede Agarkar bowled well in the slog overs. I think his huge experience helps him in mixing up his deliveries...which he does well.
Re: India vs South Africa, Final ODI @ Belfast - July 1st
excellent save at the boundary
147-6
2 more balls to go
