Sehwag stole the show … :biggthumb:

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Atleast they (Ramiz) won't refer to Sehwag as "Sultan of Multan" anymore. I guess the new nick will be "Banai from Chennai"

Chat with Sehwag

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Sehwag becomes only the third player in history after Bradman and Lara to score two triple-hundreds

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Sehwag’s 300*

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Will he now go after Lara's 400*? He as well might; He or the team has nothing to lose as a draw looks the most likely outcome

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Banai aka Banya…bad call on my part…lol

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

India can actually win this game if they bat all day today (day 4) and add another 300-350 runs. That would give them a lead of 225-275 over SA. Although the pitch looks quite benign and slow, SA are not out of the woods by any means. They have a tendency to collapse under pressure and are not the best players of spin either; they would surely be tested by Kumble and Bhajji on a crumbling 5th day pitch.

OR
Nai from Chennai.

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

^ I remember a guppie mentioning that Sehwag had the looks of a "corrupt" government official. That is accurate in my opinion.

Anyways ---- its a bit strange that a batsman of his temperament & technique has scored 2 triple centuries. One could explain his 300 in Multan where he was given close to 10 lives by generous Pak fielders.....but here his innings was practically chanceless.

His 190+ in Melbourne (not exactly a dead wicket) was also an amazing innings.

I am not a believer in him yet, but a man with 50+ Test batting average cannot be ignored.

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

^^ Actually, I think its because of his temperament and his rate of scoring that he's been able to get 2 triples. Gets his runs so quickly that tiredness doesnt become a factor. Also doesnt think too much about everything, so isnt mentally drained either. Would take Dravid 5 days of batting to score 300, and he'd be a mental wreck half way through (and I say this as one of Dravid's biggest fans).

One of Sehwag's best innings was the 158 he scored at Adelaide two months ago - IMO was a big reason we didnt lose that match.

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Sehwag gone...and Tendu follows him back for a duck.
Now there are absolutely no chances of a result.

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Congrats Dravid on 10K :k:

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

^ nice! well deserved Dravid! :k:

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

I disagree, he looks like a 'doodhwaala'. *I wont be surprised if his great grandfather turns out to be a *doodhwaala.

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

^ And my favourite (after Agarkar) -- Uthappa -- looks like a charsi.

Time was when players like Hansie Cronje had to throw matches to make 10,000 USD. Now even 2-bit players like Uthappa can earn 550,000 USD in IPL ....Unbelievable.

Re: India vs South Africa - 1st Test Match

Steyn appears to have caused some wreckage at the end. Wonder what would have happened on a livelier wicket.

If it was not for Sehwag, we would be fighting to save this test.

Is this part of some rotation policy that the whole Test series is being played on listless venues like Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kanpur.

What a waste of what should have a great contest between two top teams.
