I think in both the games against England and South Africa, the indian batters had an opportunity to close out the game with the bat but they failed which cost them dearly in the end. The middle and late-middle order batters slackened and took their eyes off the game thinking the total was already big enough. That is what separates Australia from the rest of the teams. They would have just killed off opposing teams in such situations. Against England, India were well on course to score 370 and even today they should have got 350 atleast after the start they had 267/1. Actually Gambhir did ok (SR: 92.00) in the end despite a cautious start. It was the batsmen that followed Tendulkar incl. Yuvi who messed it up big time to let go of the platform set up by Sachin, Gambhir and Sehwag
