So the opportunity yet again presents itself for Uthappa, Sehwag, Gambhir, Tendu, Dhoni etc (sorry I am not sure who are selected for ODI and who for Tests)…to score FIFTIES and CENTURIES(like they usually do on subcontinental pitches against lesser opponents) and cement themselves into the team for another one year.
I, for one, am not holding my breath for an Indian victory.
The esteemed Indian selectors have stuck to the same old game of musical chairs between the usual suspects - Sehwag, Uthappa, Gambhir...even Dinesh Mongia.
They let go of a golden opportunity of trying out youngsters in this series.
The irony is that their only wise selection - Manoj tewary - is injured and out for the whole series.
^ Does not matter who they play, if India wants to win this series, they have to play like a team. When I hear Indian selectors and pundits talking about the names, I become more reluctant in choosing India as favorites to win the series. India has better players, Bangladesh better team. Just do not take these Bangalis lightly, they are on a mission.
Hello! The rain has stopped. Sun is out. Sunshowers: The fox is getting married somewhere. Schizoprehenic weather. The covers are coming off. Musical chairs out there at Mirpur.
Finally....India manages to get a wicket.......where our future is headed??
A wicket gone begging in the second over. A huge nick on the leg-side, and Nadir Shah, being present in capacity with the stump microphone, denied India the opportunity. Replays were not necessary, it was a pretty good-sized nick.
Even though the youngster played good shots, overall, Tamim Iqbal has been a major disappointment in terms of placing the ball well. Coming down the track and flashing hard outside off at every other ball rarely did the trick. Poor batting, overall. Senseless.
