Fist a date (a few runs on the board ),then a collapse(a few wickets down),then a great song (Virat-Rahane partnership)after that a seperation(a total collaspe and then a hppy ending(late night party irrespective of the result).
What a match. Exciting. Rivetting. With 6 wickets down the Aussies looked set to win. Dhoni looked unsettled. So did Ashwin. If one of them had got out, that would have been it.
Rahane has been coming into his own in this series. Compact batsman. Good technique. Well organized. Dhawan seems to be a misfit in Test cricket. The tail needs to wag some. Fast bowlers are not that bad. Need more consistency.
The Aussies left Dhoni and Ashwin and Rahane and vijay alone. Went after Kohli a lot. But that just added to the fun.
That was a beauty from Mitchell Johnson...the one that got Pujara... he set him up and finally got him with a slow ball...
Had nodded off when I heard a roar. Replay appeared to indicate ball moved in through the air. Then moved away off the pitch. And plucked the middle stump. Hadn't seen previous delivery. So don't know what went into the set up. Ball seemed unplayable.
A well earned draw but India could have done even better here imo. And I would repeat from the position they were in, India should not have 'allowed' Australia to make more than 350 in the first innings (400 at most). The discipline, the killer instinct was lacking. Australia got way too many runs (530) which all but sealed India's fate in this series. Frequent late order collapses and seeming inability to finish off the tail did not help their cause. These two remain problem areas for India.
However credit goes to the Indian batting. They have batted well (Kohli in particular) in all three tests. All of them went the distance.

But the nonsensical aggression of a few Indian players will earn the `moments of the match 'award.

I think Kohli throwing away his wicket in the last match was that Tendulkar moment where he did the same and handed the match to Pakistan. A little bit more patience and India would have won the match.

That is the first match.Second match,India did not stand a chance even for a moment.
Sorry disagree. India made a very respectable 408 and then had Australia struggling at 247/6. But as always they could not finish the job. So instead of taking a lead themselves (which as a fielding side you would expect 70-80% of the time in such situations), India ended up allowing the last 4 to push the score upto 505!
Agree with GA on India weakness. But in spite of that, the result could easily be 1-1 if umpiring calls were even. And 1-0 in India's favor if the calls situation reversed.
