Seems like KK traditions are changing, sometime ago a match thread would open up days (if not week(s)) before the game, now the thread is opened during a game or when it is over
Anyway, India’s never-ending batting resources, yet another opener Vijay debuts against Australia.
End of Day 1: 311/5
Tendulkar scores yet another century
Dravid out on unprecedented duck.
Australian debutant bowler Krejza takes 3 wickets.
India lost a golden opportunity to put this game and series away yesterday. On this flat track after winning the toss, we had no business losing five wickets. Sehwag's was the most disappointing dismissal - threw his wicket away trying to be cute. He could have gone nuts on this wicket had he lasted.
Dravid's form is heart-breaking. One of my all-time favorite Indian batsmen, and to see him go out this way (this could very well be his last test) is just too bad.

Seriously...wud have loved to see him last all day...wud have been great fun...plus it wudnt have hurt my FC chances too considering tht Sehwag is my trump
India continuing the good work....Ganguly seems so relaxed and comfortable at the crease ever since he announced his retirement...people are gonna wonder if hes doing the right thing :) but i think if he hadnt announced his retirement he wud still have been sorta scratchy...
I thought Indian batsmen didnt give Krejza enough respect - that was part of the reason he got 5 top order wickets. But he did bowl well also - gave the ball a lot of flight and slowed it down so he could get sharp turn. Unlike our 300-wkt superstar who I thought looked a bit too hurried. Will need to get our act together quickly in both bowling and batting - Aussie batters dont look to be in as generous a mood as our heroes were. Should be a fun 3 days.
Talk of negative mind-set. Lets see what Indian Media calls this. They are always front-runner when it comes to criticize some other team for negative tactics against India (for example Naseer Hussain vs Tendulkar)
I agree. They are copying what the Aussies did yesterday - aiming to get the batsmen to make a mistake instead of attacking and trying to earn the wicket. Only difference here is Aussies cant afford to play this game - they are the ones that need a win, so will have to push the pace.
