india vs Australia 2nd Test

Hyderabad. March 2-6. 930am local 4pm gmt

Aussies win toss. Lost 2 wits for 19. Bhuva nice bowling. Bringing ball back.

Dhoni drops catch off ashein. Hughes I think.n59 for 2 drinks.

Bhuva is good. As AA said earlier

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

he is from Kanpur, another UP-wala lol :)

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

^ yes. He plays for up in Ranji the commentator sastri said.

87 for 4. Up bhuva 3.wits. ashein 1. Dhoni almost dropped another catch off ashein bowling. Ball both times had bounce. And dhoni did a brick Akmal. 2 nd time luckiky he salvaged it with headlong dive.

Also gave 8 byesx( 2 fours) that should have been stopped.

Subpar keeping.

Clarke taking it to India.

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

What a day of cricket! Aussis 237 for 9 related. Sehwag and Vijayanagar negotiate 3 overs. 5 for no loss.

Dhoni dropped 3 catches and gave several hyde. Clarke out plumb vs Ishant at around 2o goes on to make 91. Wade also escaping a close lbs at abt 15 goes on to make 65 plus.

Bhuva is real deal. Ishant bowled well w/o wickets. Bhajji back in form. Jadeja brilliant.

Pitch was fair. Had something for the seamers. And for spinners. Aussies just don't know how to play spin. Except Clark. He uses his feet very nicely.

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

India 54 for 1. At lunch day 2. Sehwsg flops again.

Lunch menu: Biryani

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

India around 305 for 1. Pujara 160+ Vijayanagar 130+ . Vijayanagar chancelss. Puj dropped by Clarke around 120. By wade around 150.

Vijayanagar in 1 st test yorker then out to loose shot. Showed very good technique. Esp vs pattison. No fishing outside off stump like gambhir. Wonder why he was kept out so long. Pujara solid as always.

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

Vijay. Not Vijayanagar. Stupid auto correct.

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

India has dominated Australia in tests so far but I always take home wins with a grain of salt. India's real test (in tests) will be their next away series in South Africa. We all know what happened in England and Australia.

I am not convinced that the current Indian bowling can take 20 wickets in Aus, England and SA

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

That being said it will be good if India could inflict a 3-0 or 4-0 (tit for tat) defeat on Australia

Most importantly, it will prove that only SA and England among the present test teams have the bowling and batting to win in unfamiliar conditions

The Aussies do not have a world-class spinner, current pace attack is not more than decent and batting lacks the solidity and class of yesteryear

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

India's dismal performance in England and Australia was not just due to bowling inadequacies. The openers Gambhir andSehwag disappeared. VVS in Australia was over the hill. Dravid uncharscteristically got his defence split wide open and started getting bowled. The great wall had cracks, that widened as the series progressed.

Sehwsg in the current series has shown he no longer has what it takes to give India a good start. Gambhir goes fishing outside the offstump in predictable fashion and is useless abroad. So does Dhoni.

Murali Vijay showed solid technique. No reason he was kept out of line up so long. Abhinav Mukjnd in England scored a good 50. Solid technique. He can be the other opener.( saw Rahane just once. Not good footwork).

Bottom line Vijay and Pujara replacing gambhir and Dravidnis positive.kohli at 5 over laxman positive. Mukund over sehwag positive.

Bhuva showed he gets purchase even in Indian condition with some reverse swing. Took a brilliant catch and is more than a useful batsman.

Ishant improving though stats don't show.

I think the old guard was kept in place far too long. Future is bright. And I say this with all seriousneess. India has turned the corner.

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

^ Our legal counsel advised a modified last sentence- India appears to have turned the corner.

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

OK..so it is confirmed...Aussie domination finally over and a struggle period of 5+ year starts....this current Aussie lot is as pathetic as late 80s and early 90s with Clark doing Alan Border!!!

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

^ very True

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

India needs atleast 3 good pacers to do well on pitches in SA, Aus and England. Bhuva will do well on seaming tracks but he lacks serious pace. Ishant is a bit like Gul, lacks penetration in tests, wasn't all that impressive in Eng or Aus. Agreed Sehwag needs to go.

Let's see how Pujara does in non-Asian away tests. I have a feeling that Gambhir will come back at some stage. He's merely being rested!

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

sorry uncle jee...but no, this indian team is just average ( i wanted to use word pathetic but dont want to hurt you!) and will remain so for sometime...they will struggle big time outside india and i say this based on my humble understanding of cricket knowledge...i am not being being biased or anything

indian bowling remains one of the weakest...bhuva is only good for first few overs and one has to see him through while the ball is new, although he may be more dangerous in England where the ball swings ...but in Aus and SA he just does not have pace, once the ball loses its shine...and he does not have enough pace for reverse swing either.

ishant..well, i am a firm believer that if someone does not perform in first 30 matches he is finished...this guy has taken 135 odd wickets in 50 test matches....he is indian Umar Gul...he wud have been kicked out of any playing eleven long time ago except india and that shows the extent of indian problems with fast bowling....just few odd wickets here and there but he will never generate winning spells like zaheer khan.

india spin attack is only good in india..and that too against pathetic aussie team who has no idea how to play spin...South africans, sri lankans, pakistanis and england can still rape this spin attack in india.

batting wise, pujara seems good but it takes time to develop world class batsmen as they need to play enuf cricket in all sort of conditions...so murli, pujara, kohli..all need time... once sehwag and tendulakr retire in next 10 months, more trouble for india especially outside india...kohli will lead the team in future but next 4+ yrs downhill for india for most part, if u ask me

and all of this was obvious the way england destroyed india in india.....

dont put too much hope into indian-Aus series as this aussie team is seriously pathetic...i mean seriously bad...

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

agree...gambhir is india's biggest hope outside india...i luv that guy's attitude..he is a fighter. he needs to be a dominant figure in dressing room for next 6+ years...if he fails, india in a big trouble as they will have no one in dressing room.....it will be a brand new team except dhoni

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

funny i said exact same things in my post and just read yours...i actually said "ishant is Gul" as well! lol

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

Great minds think alike!

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

^ good points gentlemen. Pujara I think played overseas only once. Against South Africa.ni think he decoded 70 even runs once. Injuries have kept him on the sidelines for the most part.

Thenhussey brothers ( I cant tell them apart) are always dangerous. While Michael retired unclear why David not in team. They are such good pressure players.

Re: india vs Australia 2nd Test

what indian team will go through is normal....many greats retire and now time to rebuild.....batting wise, i think india will do OK but it will take close to 3+ years.....although not as good as dravid, tandulakr, laxman, ganguly, sehwag did....

but last time they also had kumble, srinath and zaheer khan...all good bowlers...this time no one...that is the problem
