Re: India v Sri Lanka, CB Series, 8th ODI, Adelaide
I dont understand this selection. What was the need of munaf when you dont allow him to complete his full quota. Neither did he take a wicket, on top of that his fielding is horrible. Even when dravid and gangu were in the middle order india did not go with 5 bowlers. Its the batting that is lacking in this indian team and not bowling. Why do u need to strengthen the bowling when its already doing good. Persistance on harbhajan is also bewildering. He is not bowling well at all. His only job is containment than a wicket taking bowler. He is completely out of sorts after the perth incidence. India was very lucky this time. Thanks to Yuvi, and Dhoni.
Re: India v Sri Lanka, CB Series, 8th ODI, Adelaide
^ Munaf took a wicket in his first over and he was the best bowler in this match from India.
If you drop a bowler means non regular bowlers have to bowl 10 overs they can concede more runs. Atleast with this line up they can restrict teams around 200.
In my opinion what we need right now is to include batsmen who are in good nick.

I could have said the above myself.
Dhoni has some strong likes and dislikes from what I can tell. He appears to be a buddy of Harbhajan.
I couldn't understand what Dhoni was thinking when he handed the ball to Harbhajan to bowl the last over. Because Munaf was the most economical bowler at that point and he had one over left in his quota....Harbhajan could have been easily tonked for SIXES even though he ended up giving away only 4 runs in that over...could it be that Dhoni wanted to give Harbhajan an opportunity to take a wicket (which he did) and retain his place.
Having said the above, one cannot take away anything from Dhoni's wicket-keeping and batting.....what he lacks in technique, he makes up with his temperament and positive attitude.

yes in this match, in many other match he would be the worst. Besides his fielding is terrible. This was clearly evident in the last match against australia where during the middle overs , ball will always follow where munaf stood. His bowling is not that good(la macgrath) to be included just for his bowling. Harbhajan is another idiot who need to be rested to get him back to rhythm. India was terribly lucky today. And as some1 says, i think Dhoni has his likes and dislikes, and he persist with his likes a little more than he need to. But now we can all enjoy this win, but another day India would have lost by miles.
Re: India v Sri Lanka, CB Series, 8th ODI, Adelaide
^ What a great time to embark on a 5-Bowlers policy --- when the batting is totally out of sorts.....!! Weird......unless the plan is to trust Dhoni to win us matches with his batting every single time.
I have always held --- that in ODIs , it is better to include a batsman (who can also bowl part-time) than include a "mediocre" specialist bowler who cannot bat.

the pitch was slow, boundaries incredibly big, it was was going to be pretty difficult to hit harbhajan out of the park (which they tried and failed). and with his experience he was a good bet which paid off.
he does back his players, but hes not afraid to pull the plug when they dont perform
