India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

Holy ****

What was that

faulkner also scored a century lol

Has to be the worst series I have ever seen

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

stats very much like IPL

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

High scoring, fast paced cricket is what sells these days. Who would want their ads put on TV during a Misbah innings at Wellington?

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

So the phatta series is over.

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

**It is supposed to be a contest between bat and ball not between bat & bat! **Bowlers need to be protected. Such tracks would kill fast bowling

Not only were the tracks placid but also the boundaries at some of the grounds were very short (esp. Bangalore)

Now one or two 300+ scores in a series are ok but not five in five completed games! 3 of them being in excess of 350!!!

Pathetic 200+/- scores are not good for cricket either. 260-300 runs + pitches with pace and some turn would ensure an even & entertaining contest. otherwise it gets too boring and predictable

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

^ Above all, financial interests of the stakeholders need to be protected.

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

True but there has be a limit to their greed. They make enough money as it is..

Entertaining, competitive cricket should be the priority. One wants to see a good contest between bat and ball

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

money and excitement! that's what the players and shaa'iqeen/tamaashbeen wants and that's what they get! Dhoni did express his concern over such high scoring games.

today, Bangladesh successfully chased 307...Bangladeshis started raining 4's and 6's from the very first over...looks like high scoring games are IN and slow games are OUT whether we like it or NOT! :) let's change ourselves and accept the new reality. :)

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

^ Then why not get rid of the bowlers? Use bowling machines and watch the rain of fours and sixes. Excitement extravaganza.

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

lol...is this an argument? lol

machines don't have style, expression and above all will NOT fight with the bowlers...hehe

vaise, if batsmen can outperform themselves, why can't bowlers do the same? it's a very competitive world in every walk of life...bowlers have to reinvent themselves. hai na?

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

^ That's exactly my point. Bowlers bring another kind of excitement that fours/sixes can't replace. There' needs to be a balance. That's all.

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

true, but the bowlers have to reinforce/apply themselves...they will have to counter the batting onslaught by improving, and improving a LOT! :) that might mean less of fast bowling and more of spin bowling! :)

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

^ For that you got to give the bowlers some incentives. Give them a little bit lively pitch (green, bouncy etc), that'll even things out. Cricket can't be all about scoring big. You generally won't see ball seam or swing on a lifeless pitch.

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

my point was/is that there is always room for excellence in any matter...why can't bowlers improve their bowling techniques to subdue/tame the raging batting bulls. i think bowling can be improved a great deal...

...recently, i noticed that most bowlers were erring in bowlings...they were NOT bowling right length or in right areas. if they corrected that, i'm sure they would have done quite a lot better. why is it that on the same so called batter's pitch, some teams don't perform that big?

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

During the Pak v India ODI series in India in Jan 2013 which Pakistan won 2-1 (should have really won 3-0), India's scores in the three games were 227, 165 and 168 So:

  • Is Pakistan's bowling much better than Australia in these conditions?
  • Have the pitches suddenly changed in India?
  • Are Rohit and Dhawan so much better than Gambhir and Rahane/Sehwag?

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

Of Course it is much better than Aussie Bowling
In December there was some due in the pitch while this series was just plain phatta wickets
Rohit and Dhawan are good but only on Phatta wickets

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

Probably weather was a factor. I think Rohit did well in CT in England as well

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

Yeah but it was just ok nothing special......But on Plain Phatta wickets even Faulkner scored a century lol

Re: India v Australia ODI & T20I series 2013

-yes, Pak bowling is better than Australia and India. Rohit is definitely better than Rihane and Gambhir but not better than Sahwag -i don't think so...weather conditions and dew may have played a role in January matches against Pakistan.
