And here we go again.. we lose the first test as I predicted!
Why must we always lose the first test of every important series? We lost the first test of the last SL series, the first test of both last home and away SA tours, we ALMOST lost the 1st test vs Australia in Mohali (Remember the Laxman Ishant miracle stand?). Yes, we bounced back in ALL of the above series and won the series except the ones against SA where we drew the series.
Sure, that's a positive. The team always bounces back and does a great job playing catch up. But why get yourself in that position anyway? We can blame too many games, or lack of practice in local conditions.. but that's not enough for me. I suspect these guys just don't get on their top game until they are behind and the media is on their a$$. It happens every dammn time.
If we are going to do it again and bounce back in the series to win it (as per my prediction :D), we need the injured stars Zak, Gauti, Sehwag and Sachin back to fitness ASAP.
I hear Dhoni may have to sit out one Test match due to poor over rate. (This time he does not have Sreesanth to beat up on - the Windies tour and Lords test - we managed a poor over rate just fine without Sree.
I hear Parthiv Patel would ave been a better batsman-keeper than Saha. Wonder if non-inclusion of Patel will come back to bite us.
I would use Dravid as keeper - our tail (which i sgreat in Indian conditions) is long as is. Cant afford to carry the weak hitting Saha.
This loss was tough to take. But I distincltly remember what Sri Krishna (Antuman Alona) told Arjuna (Zero_One) before India-Pak one day - "It is only a game". Just gotta keep repeating that mantra.
I never thought India ll lose so cheaply. They must played like champions but I'm not happy with their attitude in last test against WI and now this test. They didn't play like true champions like Aussies when they were No. 1.
Kick the useless Bhajji out of the team ! Seriously Hafeez has bowled better than him in the last year or so ! Get Yuvraj in, he will bowl better than Bhajji for sure ! And if Zaheer isnt match fit, play Munaf !
Not sure if 'getting used to the conditions' is a valid excuse. England is a superior team in all departments of the game.
Indian bowlers can restrain batsmen in one day games by bowling at leg stump but Test matches are really going to test this club level bowling attack.
I'm not sure if Srisanth is in the squad but he can bowl wicket taking deliveries. How could you not play Yuvraj is beyond me. The little god should make way for Yuvraj or Kohli.

Jumping the gun a little after one game. Claiming that England is superior in all departments.. is frankly..moronic.
Wanting Sachin to be replaced with Yuvraj or Kohli... is also moronic.
Sreesanth should be in - he does give up runs. But he can bowl some reasonably nasty balls once in a while that keeps batsmen honest.
England outplayed India. Their fielding is better, their bowling is better. While on paper India's batting is better, we have a huge tail. # 8-11 is useless. Not sure if there is a solution to this.
An out of form player should not be in the sqaud. Now that is kind of moronic to expect him to perform.
Only morons would wish that if half of the team was in form (Gauti, Zaheer, Tendulkar, bhaji),' we would have one.
Or maybe we lost because we are slow starters lol! That is the biggest moronic statement.
Are you suggesting Tendulkar is out of form? How long has he been out of form for?
The slow starters isnt a reason.. its a frustrating pattern...my previous post was just about that.. that this has to stop happening.. you cannot just lose 1st games of every important series..
By now it is well know BCCI does not give much time for Indian team to get acclimatized to local conditions. At most, India gets to play 1 match. Much has also been written about the fact that folks who went to Windies have by and large performed better than those who did not go. And were probably fitter also. The young crop of Kohli, Raina (and who else?) take pride in their fielding. My feeling is (maybe I am a fronrunner) this English side is too good to beat after a slow start.
Maybe India has overachieved, and now is reverting to the mean. Hoping to be wrong (and labeled a moron :))
