I have to say I was lucky enough to miss most of the action. Was following the score every now and then..sometimes not for 1-2 days. The 1st loss was almost expected. The 2nd one hurt the most.. specially with how well our fast bowlers performed on Day 1 without Zak. The 3rd and 4th loss didn't hurt as much as it became obvious after the 2nd game that nothing is working out for the Indian team (injured Zak, Sehwag and Gambhir..... Dravid and Laxman having to bat at positions they havent bat in for almost a decade..and the other fast bowlers consistently inconsistent) while almost everything is working out for England (great huge knocks by almost every batter, great spells by almost every bowler).

Quite honestly I never expected India to be this poor on this tour despite their bowling limitations. With the batsmen they had, to lose by an innings at The Oval is unforgivable. Only Dravid showed tremendous fight and character throughout
Glad to know that you are not coping with your disappointment by downing 'jaam'
I did not see the whining.. but I can't find much to disagree with in the article you posted.
Lets hear your reasons why there should be two trophies and the person after whom the main trophy is named.. was ignored.
What would be the attitude of everyone if it was the BCCI who whored itself to a sponsor by having a second trophy?
Im sure whether or not you see whining depends on the person doing the seeing. I'll stick with fuming, although if you think about it there isnt a whole lot of difference, except in emphasis, between the two words.
And I didnt say I disagreed with him. I just enjoyed it.

Fair enough. Gavaskar sure goes off fuming and cribbing like an old uncle. I don't agree with him a lot of times. One thing I do respect is that he almost always stands up for the asian nations.

Just to add to that - I have yet to see an example where Gavaskar is way off base when he stands up for Asian nations (not just India)
When I first checked in today, both Tendulkar and Mishra were ~ 80. In 3 balls, Mishra was bowled. So immediately turned off the game.
Just an observation, in addition to Dravid dismissal, there were 2 lbws, including Tendulkar and Raina. Did not see if those were plumb or not, just saying..... Got to concede Tendulkar was out lbw earlier. Just found out maybe he was out twice LBW earlier from ESPNcri.. So I guess no complaints - got flattened fair and square.
Going to stick up for Sreesanth. He is the only guy in the field who showed some spirit. He engaged in some sledging with KP - he could have laid down and not be that spirited. I would rather the other bowlers show the same spirit. Good for him he got 3 wickets. His stats for the series not terribly bad. Hoping the selectors stick with him, and we find a captain who does not berate him in public, and supports his player (just as opposition catains support ther bowlers when the latter engage in similar sledging.)
Wow, I mean I knew India will have a hard time beating England, but this defeat is one for the record books. The guns India trusted to win the game have run out of bullets. They need to start from scratch. This series shows that England is the best team in the world and has been for a while. They were not able to perform to their ability in the WC2011 due to injuries.
Dravid again showed that he is better than Tendulkar and Laxman, probably combined.
England has everything going on for them, bowlers, batsmen fielding everything and don't think a flat track will bother this team.
**Not every cup is sold...not all centuries scripted...you gotta play some to win some...what a shame, what a shame! 4-0 makes the 'world champions' Indians a laughingstock! :D
India did ascend to the top spot in Test cricket but they never really proved themselves. They never beat Australia in Australia, failed to beat South Africa either at home or away, and Pakistan of course they did not even face. -- says Saad Shafqat; a renowned Pakistani Sports Writer for DAWN & cricinfo.**

But to be fair to India, even though the bowling sucks, between 1999 and 2007 when Australia were dominant, they had the best record against them (Australia) among all test playing nations incl. England
