India Tour of England 2011

Re: India Tour of England 2011

India missing his one specialist batsman Parveen Kumar :p

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Eng 43/0 (13 Overs)

This is India's worst first hour with the ball on this tour. In previous Tests, their new-ball bowlers did something - got the ball to swing, beat the bat, had a few appeals, and even took some wickets. Today, they have done nothing noteworthy. England have strolled through this first hour.

“Cook and Strauss have now been involved in 31 fifty-plus partnerships, a record for England batting pairs. 27 of those have come for the first wicket.”

I’m going to sleep now

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Mean while Cricinfo is dishing it out
Suresh Raina has the ball, in the first session of a Test match. Epic scenes of Indian failure at The Oval. :Hmmmm

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Cricinfo:
*Lunch, And so ends India's worst session of the series with the first new ball. They did nothing to test Strauss and Cook. Admittedly the pitch wasn't doing much but there was a palapable lack of intensity. You didn't see anyone encouraging anyone like they would when the going is good. They just let things go, and Strauss and Cook will certainly rank this among the easiest opening sessions they've faced. *

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Looks like indian bowlers would be bowling for next 2-3 days

Re: India Tour of England 2011

And Sreesanth's personal "Oval" streak continues

Re: India Tour of England 2011

And what is that streak uncle?

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Waleed, Oval meaning 0 - 0 wickets in an inning streak is intact - so far :) - off to work we go.

Re: India Tour of England 2011

I predict a draw

Forecast is for **heavy rain on 3 **out of 5 days of the test. In otherwords it might be a 3 day game at best. England will aim to pile up a big first innings score. Even then a result is not guaranteed owing to time lost due to bad weather

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Cricinfo:

“How we Indians love this rain
It’s served well to soothe our pain
For contrary to what others say,
this has probably been India’s day
The cherry has been spared the English cane.”

:hehe:

Indian Bowling = Help yourself to another easy hundred

Re: India Tour of England 2011

The alarming thing is the ease of the English batters

Except of Ishant the rest is toothless .... Sree is trying but outswinger after outswinger isn't the solution

Ominous signs for India

Re: India Tour of England 2011

seems like Pieterson is in hurry and want to complete his 200 by the end of the day. On the other hand Amit Mishra just completed his century and R.P Singh is closing in on one (he is on 94)
