India sixth dangerous country for kids

India has been judged as the sixth most dangerous country for children in the world, according to a recent poll.

Afghanistan, Palestinian territories, Myanmar and Chechnya were placed better than India in the poll conducted by Reuters AlertNet, a humanitarian news website run by Reuters Foundation, Rajya Sabha was told today.

During the survey, the website asked more than 110 aid experts and journalists to highlight the most dangerous places for children.

The first five dangerous countries are Sudan, Northern Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq and Somalia, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhury said while replying to a written question.

The facts that have been taken into account for the poll survey include the children involved in armed conflict, the psychological trauma experienced by children caught up in violence, the children living in poverty and forced to work to support themselves and their families and malnutrition among children, the minister said.

Re: India sixth dangerous country for kids

nope.....i dont boast about india being great or something economically or militarily. I dont like all those indians who say that india is a super power. i dont hate them either. All those indians should learn to keep their feet on the ground. India has its own problems to deal with. I am not trying to be great over here nor am i pulling down the confidence of indians. The real strength of a country or a person lies in having the power and at the same time not show it others. India should integrate with the rest of world in all terms and in the long run these national boundries should be reduced. and i think india is indeed integrating with the rest of the world, but still a long way to go. and yes, i am an indian.
