India SC relieved some culprits re Parliament attack

In lack of direct evidences the Indian Supreme Court can not hang these culprits.

Are they freedom fighters? I doubt. As in the court these terorists did not defend the cause, instead pleaded ‘not guilty’.

SC acquits Geelani in Parliament attack case

The Supreme Court will on Thursday pronounce its verdict on the appeals filed by two of the convicts challenging the Delhi High Court order upholding the death sentence awarded to them by the trial court in the Parliament attack case.

A Bench of Justice PV Reddi and Justice PP Naolekar, would decide the appeals filed by Shaukat Hussain Guru and Mohd Afzal as also the appeal preferred by Delhi Police against the acquittal of Delhi University lecturer SAR Geelani and Afsan Guru.

The Bench had reserved its verdict in the case over two months ago after hearing it on a day-to-day basis for nearly six months.

The trial court had awarded capital punishment to Geelani, Shaukat Hussain Guru and Mohd Afzal and five-year prison term to Afshan Guru after holding them guilty in the case.
However, the High Court had acquitted Geelani and Afshan but maintained the capital punishment on the other two.

In the most audacious attack to date in country, terrorists on December 13 launched an attack on Parliament House after breaching security at gate number 12.

In the ensuing gun battle, five-members of the suicide squad, six Delhi policemen and a Parliament employee were killed.

The terrorists entered the complex using a white Ambasador car with a fake Home Ministry sticker.
