China has cornered India from all sides by becoming too close with India's neighbors. China already has Nepal, Myanmar under it's control. It has Pakistan as its ally and now working on Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Brahma Chellaney is Professor of Strategic Studies at New Delhi's Centre For Policy Research.
He says that autocratic China is far more robustly focused on strategic advantage than India's sprawling democracy where quick decisions are as rare as consensus.
BRAHMA CHELLANEY: India is therefore always behind China and this is most apparent in both the figures on economic growth rates in India and China with China far ahead of India and also in the level of defence spending.
For a whole decade the Indians put on hold their military modernisation and they've allowed their defence spending to decrease as a percentage of the GDP over the last 17 years, while the Chinese in the same period have sharply accelerated their defence spending because they know that military might is critical to building leverage to advancing economic interests. They have a more comprehensive view both of security and of power, while the Indians are more prone to a self-righteous worldview.

Give her a break guys.. I dont care if shivangi is he or she.. but if she is a Kashmiri , my sympathys are with them. Be it the Jawans who are deployed there or the terrorist( freedom fighters as some of u would like to call them) or the people who are caught btw. the fighting.. or the Kashmiri Pandits who had to flee their land for fear of prosecution.
If its a big issue that Pakistan wants Kashmir then why dont they make it a issue with China who is occupaing Aksai Chin. Are they really interested in Kashmir unification or they use it as a brick whith wich they could hit India in every other international forum.
Just wonderful! Give up Indian land to chinese so we can be flooded by billions of dollars of their cheap goods that will put our companies out of business as well. We should demand our territory back first then talk about trade!

It was during the Vajpyee govt. only all this thing started. India cannot afford a war with China.When the first war happened.. India were in a much better position. They were more technicaly advanced. But Chinese soldiers outnumberd Indians 10 to 1. They came in hoards. They are communist not god fearing Hindus, muslims or Sikhs. They were the red army.!!!

BJP’s start to exist from 1982. If that was the case then why did Vajpayee.. didnt declare a fully fledged war on Pakistan to reclaim the territory.he had enough reasont to do it right. !!!
bhaijaan the point is that the BJP has never lost any our of our territory but congress has on many times. Only a leader like Advani ji can get back all our lands from these people.
The point Guptaji is that Vajpayee govt. was only there for 5 years. So how can u say so confidently that BJP would not have done all this during those times. But they had enough reason to go for a full fledged war right.. why didnt they go. And in 1971 war we managed to get back some of the territories right.
And also.. all this cbm's stuff started with Vajpayee govt. Did they not do it. The Congress is just taking it forwerd. Being it the relationship with China or with Pakistan. The only bad happening is that our foreign minister is a good for nothing fellow. He should be changed. He clearly sucks.
Under Bjp government we defeated pakistan in kargil sent musharraf home packing from Agra and faced him down after parliament attack. All congress has ever done is pander to minorities suck upto pakistani leaders and lose our teritories all the time.

Being a Kasmiri Pandit then Jawahar as well as Indira would have had a natural love for kashmir, and they would have loved to have the whole Kashmir with India.
what love did Nehru have for Kashmir when he went running to the Un and make pakistan a party in its affairs?
what love did his family have when they let 4 lakh kashmiri PAndits be expelled from kashmir by islamic militants? Why has nobody mentioned the pandits in all this peace talks?
