spot on Irfan…i felt i have written this article. For years, I have been publicly scolded, ridiculed and sometimes insulted by fellow guppies for being too pro-indian. Old guppies know that i was often called a “shameless indian agent”. Indian guppies thought i am their only supporter on this forum. People like me and Irfan hussain hoped that one day relationships will normalize between these 2 neighbors.
I also used to feel that Pakistani establishment is responsible more for this animosity as it suited its agenda but for last few years our establishment became too busy dealing with our internal terrorism issues and it became increasingly obvious that indian establishment and india media are now a bigger hurdle in normalizing relationship. so much hatred was spread and therefore Indian public has also became more anti-pakistan. Imagine this, pakistan selecting nawaz who promised friendship with india whereas Indians selecting hardcore modi who postured anti-pak as his main policy. No indian politician can even dream of taking pro-pak position.
anyway, i am now fully convinced that 2 countries will not have normal relationship in my lifetime and i have no such desire left either as it is a wishful thinking. On our forum, Hawks have taken over as well as indian govt/media and neocons/media on our side providing enough fuel for hate to flourish.
I am also fully convinced that there will be a full-fledged war between these 2 countries soon. only question is when
this is what i mean..news like these will keep on coming from both sides and hatred will keep on increasing. this poor guy was tortured to death with his eyeballs being puled out by indian authorities even after indian court had acquitted him
with modern communication channels, love and hatred both spread really fast among masses.
Seriously! Why does everyone in Pakistan has to hate India and why does everyone in India has to hate Pakistan? Like, WHY??? Our countries were blood brothers once. Why can't we love each other and why can't we live as one? And we, commoners, are the ones who have to suffer 'cuz of these conficts.. I love India as much as I love Pakistan. And I love Pakistan as much as I love India.

sure..on paper these emotions look great. practical realities are different. no one wants to fight but mistrust among these 2 neighbors is increasing day by day. that they have a blood-laden history does not help either and there is no tall popular statesman on both sides who could lift himself above historical narratives and make some far fetching decisions. Vajpayee was the last one in series who tried but unfortunately failed first due to kargil and second time due to hardliners in BJP.
India is now completely devoid of any statesman in any party and "hate and hit Pakistan" is the only currency being sold in congress, BJP. once Modi is gone only then india will realzie the damage he has inflicted upon india both globally and internally. Pakistan political scene is bankrupt as well although Pakistani politicians are generally more pro-indian than their counterparts (nawaz, bainazir, zardari, even imran).

and I really really hope that... cause its not even possible for educated rational men to give up hatred(on both sides).. so I wonder how would depreved act... on such issues..
