The is quite possibly the most idiotic ceremony in the world. Next to the Nort and South Koreans facing off each other with kung fu grips.
India should drop this and do a more somber and dignified ceremony. The rest of the world looks at this and laughs at the childishness of it all.

I say the ceramony last time I went, it really is rather obsurd.. BUT IT IS ENERTAINING:hehe:

It has become part of tradition now, and a rather enjoyable one at that. regardless of how the relations are, and we all hope they'll keep improving, this ceremony attracts visitors in millions every year and every one leaves mesmerized. recently a delegation had come to lahore from delhi, it was a team from the delhi bar council visiting the lahore bar council and a tv channel aired their visit to the ceremony. These Indians sitting at Lahore among crowds chanting Pakistan Zindabad could hear equally strong slogans of Jai Hind etc coming from the other side, and the environment wasnt hostile, it was fun and visitors on both sides of the border shared this sentiment. it was a deeply patriotic experience for all, but positively. being patriotic doesnt mean one can't watch or hear the other side being patriotic.
This ceremony should go on.

ceremony real reason is to raise the flag at sunrise and drop it at sunset. all other activities added later and now part of this tradition.

Guys, this is the symbolism of highest order. What does the parade in the armed forces signifies. It is also a symbolism for discipline and strength. No one called it stupidity. it is the part of customs and traditions of services. This ceremony is also now become the part of our custom now. Now it is upto us ( indian and pakistani) to make it look good or bad. May be it can make the our relationship in making more friendlier.
