Bad idea, because the religious, political & social idelologies of all 3 countries are very different.
Besides, India does not gain anything by uniting. Dont know about the other two.

India will certainly gain since Indian companies would have bigger market. Just compare America and Canada. Canadian population is one tenth of U.S. and American economy is fifteen times bigger but America is gaining by having friendly relationship with Canada. India would certainly gain by having such relationship with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
It is not necessary that soico, political and religious ideologies must match for this kind of union. America is a republic while Canada isn't but this has not posed any problem. Mexico is entirely different and has much less similarity than between India and Pakistan but NAFTA alliance is benefitted all the three countries

Canada is not a hub of terrorism like Pak & Bangladesh. I think India would gain more by aligning with the South East Asian countries.

you donot have to share a lot to make an economic/military alliance, IMO. If India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bengladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan, Iran can form economic alliances, military alliances than a lot can be gained. For example Pakistan or India will not need to put a lots of their armed forces on their common borders, lots of cross border trade will help small industries. But such an alliance would take a lot of efforts, atleast in initial phases as it involves trusting each other, which right now is absent from the area.

I repeat, such alliances can be formed only if there is a common minimum basic ideology. Countries like Iran, Pakistan & India are 3 corners of a triangle - more than half the countries you list are not even democracies, which is a basic right of citizens in the 21st century. Trust is possible only where there are similar idelogies. Why/how would a secular democracy like India trust a dictatorship like Pak or a theological state like Iran ?
However, I agree with your point about trade as long as its mutually beneficial without trying to fit it in the structure of a trade alliance.

Iran looks theological from outside but inside it is as westernised as any other western country. Believe me. I have met at least thiry Iranians both men and women in several different places (I was also working in an Iranian owned company) and out of that twenty eight turned out to be outright aeithist. Only two were moderately religious. I have learnt from my Iranian colleagues that most of the middle class Iranians are aethist but are suppressed by a tiny minority group of religious people. The situation is akin to that in Maharashtra where Bal Thakrey is the undisputed supremo while his Brahmin tribe constitutes just 2% of Maharashtrian population.

Dont forget that there are almost as many Muslims in India as in Pakistan, and most of them are quite happy being Indian citizens. India is not a hub of terror like Pakistan is. Lastly India is not as dependent on imports as Pak is.
So I think that Pak would definitely gain a lot more from the deal (if it were ever to happen)

First of all, not all muslims are happy in India as evident by the racial discrimination that muslims suffer by hindus on a daily basis as well as the massacares of muslims in gujrat and kashmir by the indian government which is complicit in this regard.
As for Pakistan being a hub for terrorism, that is ridicilous.
Pakistan provides sanctuary for freedom fighters to lead their crusade against the Indian army just like Britain provided a sanctuary for the European governemnts that fled to England after the Nazis took over Europe.
India is a bigger hub for terrorism and the most brutal kind, state sponsor terrorism.
India trains Tamil terrorits for their operations in Sri Lanka as well the state terrorism against Christians and Muslims by Hindus.
Every corner of India is burning with wars and insurgencies.
Aids, prostitution, moral decay, corporate takeover, etc... are all major problems which will plague india.
And Pakistan with its massive economic growth, new alliances with the West and Arab World, militarily self reliance, and new development projects is on the up and up.
Pakistan is better off withouth joining with India
