Gurgaon was literally a gaon (village) close to delhi until few years ago. due to economic boom and shortage of space in delhi, private developers laid their eyes on this village and transformed it in to a brand new satellite city. most of the buildings are built by one private developer DLF. with its impressive growth Delhi metro took notice and for the first time delhi metro stepped out of delhi and reached to gurgaon. now gurgaon is working on its own metro which will work parallel to delhi metro.
Twoother cities in two different states took the same advantage of their proximity with delhi and developed themselves . other mega cities have taken gurgaon as model and developing their satellite city of their own
Bonus Pic: DLF gateway. i remembered back in the days this was the only building shaped like a ship on a dusty road on the highway. now this building is surrounded by so many better buildings.
This is the Mausoleum of Emperors Aurangzheb I believe… Really pales in comparison to the Taj, although thats obviously where they drew the inspiration…

Yes yes. My mistake. I recall reading about bot long ago. It was built for his wife Rabia Daurani. It stood out not bcs of its beauty but its strange and awkward propotions. A very sad testement to the decline of architecture during that time, bcs if its one thing Auranzheb wasnt known for, it was his patronage of the arts..
