India Needs to improve his security

I was reading through Telegraph well known English Newspaper and I was amazed to see how Indian security is weak. Do you guys think India should go a head with IPL with current circumstances? How on earth any foriegner can feel safe when you read these kind of things?

Mumbai massacre survivors join new Indian anti-corruption party - Telegraph

Mumbai massacre survivors join new Indian anti-corruption party.

Thomas Uledar was survivor in Mumbai incident.

He said:
"The authorities’ lack of preparedness – including badly-equipped police and botched rescue operations – provoked widespread public fury, and for Mr Uledar was the final straw that made him abandon his support for the country’s political elite. "

“Our leaders are filthy and immoral,” said Mr Uledar, 29, a devout Christian. “Instead of running the country and giving us security, they are looting it, getting fat from corruption. I want honest people to come in to give us a new start.”

“Mumbai policemen had no guns to fight the terrorists, only sticks,” said Shefali Sagar, Mumbai coordinator for the PPI. “The fire engines were ancient. Commandos had to use a bus to get to the site. India has no antiterrorist squad. Politics is just a means for politicians to make money.”

Reading all of this makes me think, its not easy living in India.

Re: India Needs to improve his security

it is definitely not easy living in an indian city.

Re: India Needs to improve his security

If IPL dont go ahead than millions of dollars will go in the toilet......

If it goes ahead than.....i am getting a feeling.......something bad will happen and beside elections are coming up....India cannot provide fool proof secuirty to even one of these events let alone both of them......will be hard for india....

Re: India Needs to improve his security

thing is IPL is run by private firms. when it is commercial, there will be adequate security arrangements. it is the govt run chaprasi policewalay who dont do their jobs.

Re: India Needs to improve his security

Still it will be really hard for India to manage two big events at a same time......

And i think many of the forgein players will pull out if it goes ahead....

Re: India Needs to improve his security

Yep.... India is like Pakistan...khoosh bachche ?

.....now close the thread. Your purpose of the thread is attained. I can't believe queer is indulging you.

btw, just stop exporting your junk across the border and India will not have to improve "his" security.

Re: India Needs to improve his security

*I hope there wont be any incident in IPL......... or else ........ there wont be any cricket in asia

Lets not feel good about ourselves by picking faults in others. Whatever happens in India should be the least of our concerns at the moment.

We need to first get our own house in order. The fact of the matter is we have extremist nutcases on our side running amok and killing innocents at random.

We must fight the enemy within. We need to unite against these barbaric murderers and shun them and their vile twisted ideology.

What should really worry us all is the fact that all 12-14 terrorists are still at large. And God knows how many more of such deranged minds are out there busy planning more atrocities in future?

Where will they strike next?
Who will be their next target?
How many more innocents will have to die?

I know this is not PA forum but:
I have given up on our nikemay and incompetent good for nothing politicians - both PPP and PML. Democracy given the current state of political parties in Pakistan is simply unworkable and unsustainable IMO

I seriously think we need a period of respite where technocrats and not politicians run the affairs of the state and if that means army dunda on top again so be it (reluctantly)

And let me remind you all. Last year's IPL was incident-free

Brother Asif what happens in India is our concern too, as much as when something little happens in Pakistan is concern of every little tom dick harry's concern in India.

Indians budge into our business every single day. Read every major newspaper, every Radio station you switch on, Indian Analyst are ready to give views about our Country like they are the experts. And yes we need to point out their faults too, not making them like ambassador's of peace (which they are not) All problems created in Pakistan are created by them and their media, don't they boil mine and your blood when they give rubbish reporting. And when we report something bad happening in their country then brothers like you start talking about our own problems.

Isn't it already enough about our country in all the forums that you had to bring our problems here?

And last but not least last years IPL was incident free as you mentioned. (Last 61 years cricket in Pakistan was incident free). Is that good enough to bring foriegn teams here. It was so far but not anymore.

So having last years IPL incident free does not mean that it is a safe country.

^ Brother Zafar I know the Indian media is very Pakistani-centric but we too have khaleefa on our side notably Zahid Hamid. If something went wrong in his toilet he might blame it too on some conspiracy. If our authorities performed their duties diligently and professionally we won't have to hold our heads in shame or worry about what others are saying about us everytime there was a mishap. Noone can guarantee foolproof security (it just isn't possible, you can only minimise the risk) but the level of security provided to the Sri Lankan team was a shambles. If the poor jawans had been provided with simple things like bullet-proof jackets we might not have seen even that many (7) casualties. The bus was not bullet-proof. The security personnel were not trained commandos. Why were they so relaxed in their arrangements? This is what angers and saddens me. It was a bloody embarrassment to the entire nation and all because of gross negligence and incompetence of both PCB and government. Our government owes an apology to the families of those jawans who died protecting the Sri Lankan team in this horrific attack.

Re: India Needs to improve his security
