the outlier in racism, just happens to be born out of racism.
Hinduism is a religion not a race and Pakistan was formed on the basis of religion not race :) Looking at the partition of India your way, Indians can be called racists for kicking out British from their country :)
Someone up there is taking pride in India being a multi-racial society and you are giving funny arguments to deny that.
Just out of curiosity, on what basis do Punjabis, Gujratis, West Bengalis, South Indians, North Indians hate each other?

A stupid survey in reality. Basing how racist a country is on preferences doesn't necessarily make a country less tolerant.

In a recent BBC article, Nigerian’s interviewed by the BBC and living in India mention varying degrees of discrimination… On the other hand, the particular Nigerian they interviewed in depth is married to an Indian himself.. So make of it what you will.

I dont know how tolerant Pakistanis are. There are black Pakistanis as well, but I would guess that bias against dark skin is as strongly rooted in Pakistani society as it is in India.

We have actual black people in Pakistan who have lived there for generations. Their called Sheedy.

discrimination on the basis of religion falls under the umbrella of racism too. look it up pal. or perhaps this explains the "outlier"..
indians didnt "kick" britishers out of india because of their race, in fact anglo-indians continued to live in india. funny excuse this one..
Med911.. i'm not surprised about nigerians facing discrimination in india. indians have no exposure to black people. or white people. they all get treated as different from normal by pretty much everyone. and white women probably have it worse than black men.

Indians in my opinion are racist with anyone who is not Indian, primarily because of a lack of exposure to people of obviously different races, the color of your skin does pay a part, however its not always the case, for example an Ethiopian despite having a lighter skin than a Tamilian may still be discriminated against.
In the more up market areas of Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore, Delhi etc where you have a large number of expats living, the residents in those areas are more racially tolerant as they are exposed to people of different races.

Who is surprised by this? These guys have the caste system, mostly based on skin color..as the untouchables are the darkest..someone tell this biggest "democracy" in the world to stop killing new born girls and stop being the most racist country in the world.

Ghost14 of course you will start name calling when you can't say anything else..plus using "gay" as slur might offend your other countryman "queer" so at least be sensitive to your countryman. You are demonstrating just how civilized Indians are by this post and totally getting rid of all the stereotypes. If you have time, look at the other post about another woman being gang-raped in the biggest democracy in the world. And please don't present the argument that Indians are just racist vs whoever is not Indian. White people are worshiped in India. While most of the people are close to African dark, you only see light skin people on t.v and in movies. India is the biggest buyer of skin whiting products. Remember the caste system is based mostly on skin color and it is part of their religion.

biggest democracy in world, great how about 800 million people in abject poverty how about 1/3 of indian politicians on charges of murder and kidnap.

that may well be true in places like in mumbai and bangalore, but overall it a very racist country.
