Not really, polar satellites are launched with PSLV rockets which are developed off ASLV (some people say ASLV's technology is copied/stolen from USA).
Russia promised to supply cryogenic engines for Indias GSLV rockets which places the satellie in Geo Sync orbit (about 36K kms), but after selling 6 engines russia backed on its deal due to pressure from USA. Thats the one of the reason why India's moon mission is delayed so much. now india is developing its own cryogenic engine which will be completed this year.
most of the technology is home grown, it came a long way from the first rocket which was carried on a bicycle..

I doubt that this was the only business deals they had on the agenda, but yes part from It India has a better relation and both are using each other pretty well. Agreed!

Factually there are more Muslims living in the city of Karachi than the entire number of Jews in the entire world. When the city of Karachi launches their own spy satellite, I will be impressed. But for now, I am frankly in awe of what little Israel can accomplish.

Unfortunately Israel is lagging behind, US satellites have long been there so any earthquake/tsunami will be result of that… this Israeli satellite is coming down, I tell ya!

Wonderful! But in retrospect, one of the things that I missed about Gupshup was the awareness of how close we all can be to world events and other points of view. From time to time I have told people that I have talked with "hundreds" of Pakistanis, particularly after the Murder of Ms Bhutto. Some how having heard some of the anguish and concern of all of you I felt very connected to those events.
Not that I intend on ever agreeing with you. So let's not take this little moment as a sign of weakness eh?
ISRO is one of the best run agencies in India. The scientists or top notch and the engineering project managers actually know what they are doing. Most importantly a succession of chiefs and senior management have been entrepreneurial in their approach and have built a great organization at a very small budget.
Many Indians won't agree/think along with what I am going to say.
All this indian space program is being pursueid more out of patriotic reasons and not really for scientific reasons. I don't agree with this approach. It should be more out scientific and commericial reasons (but it is true that to a certain extent for the sake of business it is being done).
I am sorry Singh, but the primary reasons are very scientific. I can tell you about how many proposals for grand standing missions are snuffed out on a weekly basis.
If you suspect any of the missions or projects of ISRO is for anything other than scientific purpose, please mention it and I am confident I can correct that impression every time.
I hope your opinion is not the unthought out "ah why do we need rockets when common man doesn't have money for iddly". Because the ISRO satelites are a very crucial part of day to day life, not some esoteric luxury.
