W DELHI: Information and Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday suggested to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf not to belittle chudiyan by gently reminding him that Gen A A K Niazi had to surrender before a "chudiyon wali" after the 1971 war.

Swaraj was responding to the recent remarks by Musharraf - "hamne bhi chudiyan nahin pahni (we are also not wearing bangles)" - to imply that Pakistan was not weak to meet any threats from India.

"Musharraf should be reminded that when he was a middle-ranking officer in the army, Gen Niazi had to surrender before a chudiyon wali (woman) as Indira Gandhi was the prime minister then", she said.

"He must be thinking that chudi is a sign of weakness but Pakistan must have realised its strength," she added.

The minister also said "people genuinely interested in talks (between India and Pakistan) never speak in this tone..... One day he says this and another day extends offer for talks."

( PTI )

Then why don’t you go for it man!

She is a jilted lover. All the 'kings' men (Vajpayee Cabinet) cannot satisfy her.

kukri, Swaraj is typical of the Bharati Government in that it LIVES in the past when talking about Issues of today. Before 1971, East pakistan ( Now Bangladesh) was a Great burden as it was hundreds of miles away from the Mainland, its culture was different and some of its people were Nationalist or pro-Indian. So in a way its good Bangladesh has its own identity now. But even Bangladesh is NOW at odds with Indias regional policies. In recent years Bangladesh Border Guards have repelled and killed many Indian troops on the border. So in affect India is between two potential enemies not one.

By the way Pak Jawans of today and PAK Air force are the BEST in THE WORLD. Even Bharati Generals acknowledge this fact otherwise the Indians would of TRIED another FUTILE war by now!

Abdali, my retort was against the hollow bluster of the Dhotiwallas. If they think that they can over run Pakistan in one day, they should try and see. They tried to create hatred between us and our Bengali brothers, but we are again to-gether. The Ummah has proved to be more stronger than Indian treachery. They seem to have forgotten the thrashing they got from our Bengali brothers.

with all the sweet ummah talk would pakistan
allow bihari muslims who fought for
pakistan will be allowed in west pakistan ?

During the Partition of India in 1947, around one million Muslims from Bihar had moved to what became East Pakistan. In 1971, many joined Pakistani militia or collaborated with the Pakistani army and after the 1971 Indo-Pak war ended the Bihari community faced the wrath of Bengali nationalism. Many Biharis were killed and their property was seized.

rvikz, the issue here is that Bharat is incapable of instigating a War with Pakistan. Analysts know that it would be futile for a 2nd Rate Army to even think about entering Pakistani teritory. Do you REMEMBER the Indian army who entered Sri Lanka WELL did they not suffer HEAVY casualties against local tamils with small arms. Only a few decades ago the bharati Cuckoo was heavily defeated by the Chinese in Aksai Chin and were beaten back by Pak Jawaans at the presant day line of control. They have been LARGELY brutal in destroying the rights of kasmiris at the same time VERY inaffective in Ruling Kashmir; 700,000+ 2nd rate troops, the same guys were left standing like dazed cuckoos

when Kargil was taken right under their noses (later vacated on request of Clinton).

Dil hei pakistani ke masoom khwaab

anyway, india has no reason to attack Pak. why should it? on the other hand, as demonstrated in the kargil case, india is perfectly capable of defending itself. Pakistan is yet to recover the democratic process back following it’s reversal of fortunes at kargil. i suggest people think of bread before they make plans of imitating alexander.

Yep you right Zareen India has no intention of becoming Indian ocean and the Kargil defence was so awesome that Pak still coulden’t recover all the peaks.

Zareen, you are perfectly right. it is rare to see such sane posts. thanks for the opportunity.

I think India should think of BREAD not Pakistan; arent there MILLIONS of people living below poverty levels in Bharat? Isnt there lower castes resorting to eating GRASS and RATS in some States like Orissa, even though India has a GRAIN mountain !! India LOST in kargil even though it was vacated, Bharati lies and propoganda wont change what happened.

yeah, Indians lost kargil, that's why Pakistanis honored the then PM by locking him up, and then exiling him to Saudiya, and gracefully accepted the unconstitutional ghunda-raaj.

And yeah, Indians live under extreme poverty, Pakistanis on the other hand have the highest per capita income in the world, right? wake up, dude.

You’re welocme
