India in South Africa T20I Match

SA 219/4 (20 overs) Ittni phainti :hehe:

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

match stopped due to rain india were 71/0 in 7.5 overs

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

SA won by 11 runs.

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

So India travelled all the way to South Africa just to play one T20 match!

An ill-timed contest to say the least esp. when you consider that South African players have recently returned home after playing a full series in NZ & India too have played a fair amount of cricket in Australia + Asia Cup recently

A 2-3 match T20 series before the T20 world cup would have made greater sense

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

for one t-20 Indians went all the way to SA and then got thrashed so miserably....toba toba....

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

What a waste of resources. Back in the day, contests between countries meant something. A Test match was special. Nowadays, there are at least two international series going on all year around. Oversaturation.

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

actually it was a charity match

settlement of indians in south africa150th anniversary

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

u mean the bowlers ??

same thing was happening to the south african bowlers too before rain interrupted

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

Look at the south african team they were playing their 2nd eleven.

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

South Africans got lucky. rain spoiled the game.

congrats SA, may be next time.

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

Actually, I was backing India to win the game. With Virat Raina Rohit Dhoni and Yusuf to come...and Gauti and Uthappa chasing well till the rain.

Anyway, of course it sounds ridiculous to go to SA for 1 game, I have never seen this happened. but it was a charity game for Kallis' foundation so I guess that's something.

Re: India in South Africa T20I Match

I wonder if the money raised on this one game offset expenses such as flight to SA, arranging the game etc. Unless TV ad revenues were also given to charity, this does not appear to be a good move, even from charity viewpoint.
