If nothing else, this performance will give a much-needed boost in confidence to the Indian team after the hammering they got in the preliminary matches.
Suddenly, it looks like this series is not going to be as one-sided as it seemed... now if only the Indian bowlers could get up to speed (I mean literally...)
In my opinion, I think India should get the projected score of 340..350 by the end of the day today and Declare.
With declaring, India and Australia will play for 105 overs tomorrow. Weather permitting, a 50 over game can be played. Thus, India will be able to chase with their bat, which is their strongest asset.
India is not a strong bowling team, so it's not a wise move to project a high then declaring, and trying to bowl Australia out.
Besides, both team are going for a win. The fans will enjoy the game more if it were to become a one day game on Day 5.

I have seen him playing In India and yes he is kinda slow player. but has very solid defense. And I think We definitly need this kinda player at top of order. I will rate his 36 in 135 balls more valuebale than Sehwag 45 in 55 balls.
So kudos to him.he playe very well definitly when Sachin was given out. That was the time when iningcould have collapsed.

so there are few people here who uderstands test cricket well.....well said....
ganguly out, but positive play by him. No defensive stuff. It's the right idea, go for it and if they reach 400 now it'll be great. Anyway, India can't lose. If Aussies make 300 it'll mean they will bat till tea tomorrow. If they declare at 200 we have a game on!
What I'm happy about is that we shut the Aussie media up. They were going hee-haw till 4 days back.
Our own media is doing it's usual turnabout. TOI suddenly comes out with a soppy piece saying 'let no one believe in our team, we do'. If they'd said that 5 days back they would have been laughed out of court...
