**India has most billionaires in Asia: Forbes
NEW YORK, MARCH 9: **The world’s richest are getting younger and richer with more Russians and Indians cropping up among the 946 people on Forbes magazine’s 2007 billionaires list unveiled on Thursday. The number of billionaires is 19 per cent higher than last year when there were 793, and their total net worth grew 35 per cent to $3.5 trillion, the magazine said.
The average billionaire’s age fell by two years to 62, and 60 per cent started with very little. Two-thirds of those on the list were richer, with net worth up for nearly everyone in the top 50.

India surpasses Japan on Forbes Billionaire List
NEW YORK — India has surpassed Japan with the number of billionaires on the annual Forbes magazine list of the world’s wealthiest people for the first time since the magazine started publishing the list in 1987, the magazine announced Thursday.
While Japan has had the most billionaires in Asia for the past two decades, India now counts 36 billionaires with a total worth of $191 billion, compared to 24 billionaires in Japan worth a total of $64 billion on this year’s list, the magazine’s 21st such ranking.
