Salahuddin Ayyubi: The Henderson Brooks report is never published, not because China did not attack India, but to hide the utter nepotism which Nehru had institutionalized, within all facets of the Indian Military & civilian order. It was to protect the Nehru family.
The Indian army was totally unprepared and unwilling to fight a vastly superior Chinese army, yet Nehru kept provoking China with his unreasonable demands and actions - but the fact remains that China did attack India.
The other part not fully realized, is that CIA was backing the Indian actions from behind - which made Nehru & his cronies more bold than wise. USA was interested in containing China even then. India & China both fell into this trap.
Result: China lost a friend. USA gained a strategic partner in India to contain China long term.
Arms & weapons flowed into India to prop India up against China.
Winner: USA. Losers: China & India.
