The air was tense. The crowd was silent (possibly because there was none). Southie got ready to bowl his tantalizing off spin to the Pakistani batsman PB. The pitch didn’t offer much. But as old time spinners are wont to do, Southie didn’t need help from the pitch. He was old school.
The batsman was ready. Southie took 5 steps and released the ball. He gave it a lot of air. PB’s eyes lit up. He took a yuuuge backlift intending to send it to the stratosphere. The ball dipped under his bat and hit the stumps.
