"India afraid of losing to Pakistan"- says Pak Team Manager

http://www.dawn.com/2002/10/17/spt1.htm

Sure as hell we are… Who would dare to play a side that makes massive scores of 59 and 53 in a Test Match

One suggestion to the Paki Team Manager :
Concentrate on the task at hand (taking on the Aussies) - worry about India later…

Re: “India afraid of losing to Pakistan”- says Pak Team Manager

Munnay,

Didn’t you Indians chickened out in Calcutta against Pakistan? :hehe:

I hope you know the meaning of Chickening out - There is only one team in the History of Test Cricket who chickened out Play another country. Even pakistani players like Rameez Raja and Sikander bakht accept that their team chickened out.

Sure, you don't even accept the truth.

Feb 19, 99

Vajpayee came to Lahore, Pakistan by bus

The same day Indian team had a defeat from the hand of Pakistan in Calcutta. Just look at the crowd who didn't even dare to accept defeat.

Today, Vajoo say bus got punctured because of Kargil

Pakistan's point of view, it was punctured on the same day.

It seems that Pakistan team's management has gone into the hands of complete buffoons.

First it was Pybus who put his size 11 in his mouth, and now this Brigadier saheb is insisting on making an utter fool of himself. Someone tell these blubbering idiots to look at the timing of their statements. Sheesh! Jumma Jumma aath dinn nahi huay be-izzati karayey, ab phir baray bol bolay jaa rahay hein.

If this is their idea of boosting the morale of the Pakistan team ahead of the third test, then I have one word for them ... Nuts!

Well now it's time that we keep SHUT for a long WHILE!
After these performances of our team, I bet we even would lose to Bangladesh.

I don't think the Indian team is afraid of playing Pakistan but its the coward govt. that is keeping the 2 teams apart.

Us Pakistanis got what we wanted and that was the ultimate task of being victors in India and we did, we have no more desires.

well surely there is one Pakistan India match needed for Pakistsnis..
coz they will raise their game against them for sure an dbuild their confidence ;) They always do that against them :)

Its sad to see the attitude of people like you - Win & Lose are part of Game and If you have got you have wanted then Pak team had achieved it long ago in 1986-87 beating India 1-0 in Tests and 6-1 (or something) in ODIs then there is really no need for Pak to play India again.

But I dont watch India-pak match or for that matter any cricket match for that reason - I watch Cricket to enjoy the game and I dont really care If India wins or looses. At the End of the day I would be happy If my team played well. Winning is a Bonus.

Most of the fans missed the Dual between Gavaskar-Imran and now that Careers of Waqar & Wasim are almost over we have missed Sachin/Rahul vs Akram/Waqar duals too.

We have seen the duals of Waqar/Wasim vs Tendulkar/Dravid, I want to see Shoaib blow the stumps off Sehwag before he retires, thats all I ask for.

I hardly remember any game when India won against Pakistan except for world cup matches. Either Sharjah, or India or where-ever,

I hope they do well.

Pakistan resist Australian bid to bring Test forward

From Pat Gibson in Sharjah

AUSTRALIA are in such a hurry to put Pakistan out of their misery, shake the desert sand off their boots and start preparing for their defence of the Ashes this winter that they wanted the third and final Test, which is not scheduled to start until Saturday, brought forward by a couple of days.

Pakistan, not surprisingly, demurred, on the reasonable grounds that they need time to recover from the humiliation of being bowled out for the lowest scores in their history twice in two days to lose the second Test by an innings and 198 runs.

Australia were not being arrogant. With both teams playing away from home and no crowds to speak of, there did not seem to be much sense in keeping everyone hanging around in the searing heat and prolonging the unequal struggle longer than was absolutely necessary.

:k:

sad but true. We should serioulsy restore the cricketing ties , we all shold realize what we are missing out

Sherrybaba, its not the govt that dissappoints me, because i can expect pthetic decisions from them but its the supporters like Kapil Dev who dissappoint me, look what he had to say about that.

Kapil backs India on severed links with Pakistan

BANGALORE: Legendary former Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev on Friday backed New Delhi’s thorny decision not to resume sporting ties with Pakistan until tensions between the two rivals ended.

“Is the country important or playing cricket? To me, the country is more important than playing the game for the amusement of some,” said Kapil.

Kapil, who is on a day’s visit to this software hub of India, said although he wished the two nuclear South Asian rivals would mend ties, it was New Delhi’s policy not to resume cricketing ties with Pakistan.

“Emotion is not more important than the country,” said Kapil who scored 5,248 runs and took 434 wickets in 131 Tests during his illustrious 16-year career.

India and Pakistan last played cricket against each other in Bangladesh two years ago, but the Indian government rejected subsequent proposals to play Test and one-day series. Two years ago when India refused to tour Pakistan for a scheduled Test series, the Pakistan Cricket Board said it was deprived of 15 million dollars in revenue.

In July, Pakistan during International Cricket Council’s (ICC) meeting in London, declid to accept the 10-year Test calendar till the governing body persuaded India to end its cricketing boycott of Pakistan.

India earlier this year had said it had no objection to India playing against Pakistan at multi-nation events like the World Cup, but ruled out Tests and one-day matches.

India are scheduled to play a league match against Pakistan in the World Cup in February-March next year. India and Pakistan played each other in the 1999 World Cup in England even when the Kargil conflict was at its height in Kashmir.

What Kapil is saying now, Your Great Imran Khan has said long ago in 1999 itself, what do you say to him ??

No India-Pakistan cricket, says Imran
Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan has advocated “no” cricket ties with India in the immediate future, reasoning that it will foster further ill-will among the two countries.

Imran, who during his playing days had made some astounding apolitical statements, like one he made in Sharjah in 1991, that the Kashmir issue should be settled on the cricket field, had yesterday said that Pakistan should play no more cricket with the rest of the world till the match-fixing issue was cleared.

In an Internet chat today, he felt cricket matches between perennial rivals India and Pakistan will spew more hatred than strengthening or reviving friendship.

Imran said: "When hostilities are as high as they are right now, instead of promoting ties, it will cause more hatred.‘’

Regarding Sachin Tendulkar replacing Mohammad Azharuddin as India’s captain, he felt that captaincy was more a burden than responsibility on Azharuddin, hence it was a right decision.

“Given Sachin’s past stint as captain, perhaps Ajay Jadeja would have been a better choice for a while,” he added

And If that Article is too old for you or If you believe it is the Indian Link, Here it is from the BBc :-

**“For the revival of cricket between Pakistan and India, the core issue of Kashmir needs to be addressed,” **the former Pakistan captain told BBC Sport Online

Imran, preparing for October’s national elections with his political party Movement for Justice, said that the Kashmir issue was at the core of the problem.

“I am also ready to help as mediator but until and unless the Kashmir issue is solved, cricket cannot be played continuously,” he said

Now, Please tell me who is mixing politics with sports here ?? If Indian govt says that they become cowards, When Imran Khan says that, he becomes the National Hero. Did someone say Double Standards ??

Poor Imran - Since It is too hard to win elections on his political agenda alone, little did he know that even this was not going to help become PM of Pakistan. Or is he also afraid like the Indians that his team might lose ??
