I love to see an independant woman… but what happens when she becomes too independant?
When she is twenty, she thinks that independance is the supreme way of living and it makes her so happy to find the perfect job and the money, and then she gets married and he doesn’t clip her wings either. but somehow she ain’t happy with all that independance now.
She has kids and finds an excellent baby sitter… but she is much less happier with the independance.
He works at some God forsaken place and is only available on weekends and she is taking care of everything… of course he pays the bills but he trusts her with taking care of everything because she has always been so independant.
So she gets up early because she has to go to work but then she has to take her kids to school and get everything ready for them too. The day ends but her responsibilities don’t.The whole idea of independance doen’t seem very appealing anymore.

disagree man :o
it s a waist of knowledge :) besides that, I do believe women are smarter then men. ( some left here and there :D ).
If she wants to work why not?
I mean they both can take care of the kids together.
It s not 'written' that women belong at home, and in the kitchen.
The question is ... do you still cherich your independance when it strts becoming a burden.
And I think your marital status makes all the difference in the wolrd.... where it brings a certain security and satisfaction, it brings a huge number of responsibilities. And that is generally when things begin to change.
independance is totally overrated.... its lost its true meaning..
i dont believe it has anything to do with being able to do what u want.. when u want and where u want without anyones permission...
its about standing on ur two own feet.. being able to make independant judgements... not about having the perfect job and money... its more about ur own security.. being comfortable with urself.. accepting other peoples beliefs (even ur partner's).. tsk.. even independance has its constraints....
Everyone has a different notion of female independence. To me, independence is working after getting at least a 4-year college degree, getting married at a point in time when the young woman feels comfortable, having children, and continuing her career at her own pace, at her own comfort and satisfaction levels. Perhaps she has goals in life she wants to accomplish whether it is to be a multi-millionaire or to simply have a reason to get out of bed each day.

WHY WOULD INDEPENDENCE EVER BECOME A BURDEN TO ANY HUMAN BEING???
Why should the marital status make the difference only to a WOMAN? Is'nt the man married too? Does'nt the onus of this relationship lie on the guys shoulders too? Does the man's independence start becoming a burden when responsibilities increase? - a burden big enough to give up on his independence?

"Why" is a question, already answered in the scenario of the woman above.
Rest of the question raised by you actually makes perfect sense... but since I don't know a lot of men even europeans, who seem to be affected as much as a woman ,by getting married and having children I naturally assumed that there isn't much in a man's life to compromise his independance.
When are people gonna come to terms with the fact that men and women come from two different planets.A woman's vulnerability is increased manyfolds after having a relationship and after having a baby whereas men aren't affected even half as much.
But then may be you know a man or two who went off on a maternity leave after having their first child and never came back to work because the guilt and the separation from the child was just too much to bear??

Responsibilities are the price that you pay for becoming too independant. What's so difficult to understand??

Responsibility is the golden opportunity that drives an independent spirit. I'm all for it.
