i know…tough times for our cricket these days but i found this clip just now. trust me, just watch it and you will find it very interesting. this genius called wasim akram…and his partner waqar younis.
a lot of you did not see 1989-1996 live when wasim and waqar were at their peak…we grew up with them. it was unbelievable time for our fast bowling. we would win matches from no where. from nowhere…
you have no idea what the star power was…how thrilling it used to be to watch these 2 operating live…my blood still pumps when those memories come back…we have nothing left in last 10 years…sad!
remind you, wasim and waqar took 1700 international wickets between them…1700…and i think over 50% of them were either bowled or lbw. wasim once said that with new rules of lbw, they would have gotten a lot more wickets.
^^ Don't forget to mention Saqlian Mushtaq in this attack, I have seen Matches in Australia where Pakistan was bowled out for 130 and they get Australia for 120... I guess it was World Series Match...
And in those days, Jay Suria of Srilanka was getting known for his blasting opening, and many like me were of the opinion that let him play against Wasim and see how good he is.. and we were proved to be right...
Those were the days, Pakistan had one of the most dangerous and threatening bowling attack in cricketing world... i believe still those days can be back...
WOW. What a fantastic video. Amazing how he's bowling indoors, on a mat and he hasn't bowled in a while, and the very first ball is a massive inswinger.
