*Incredible India?*

The Indian tourist Industry has launched a new campagin called “Incrediable India” with Tv ads, a website, and print ads. It’s essentially branding India around something that could boost it’s image. The pictures on it’s website uses colour as it’s projection, and some of the pictures looked a little “'unnatural”. Call it propaganda, tourisim branding, or whateva, but why can’t we have any sort of Branding for our country??? People love to compare us with our neighbouring countries, and for this reason you have to argue why Pakistan is better than all the other countries for tourist attraction:

Re: Incredible India?

For this reason I have a list, and Pakistani tourisim industry better take a note of this:

***All of Pakistan is a witness to history. Essentially Pakistan itself is antique, b/c it's a land that has seen many tales, and many people.

*Pakistan's history can be related many people of the globe, because it's so rich and ancient: From British Imperalisim to birth of Buddisim, to the invasion of Alexander.

Pakistan is the most ancient country on the face of the earth, as confirmed by the Greek Historian Herodus. THe borders of the ancient civilization, matches exactly of the current Pakistan, (that he visited), and we can call ourselves the first country on earth.*

  • Pakistan is the home of Alexander conquest, and one of the countries that has faced most invasions.

*It's diversity spans centuries of conquest and bringin people from all over the world. From central Asia to Africa.

*Pakistan gave birth to the worlds' most ancient relgions, a begining point to a religion that would eventually be labeld Hindusisim to Bhudisim.

Re: Incredible India?

Because no one really cares about visiting Pakistan. Maybe the extreme adventurous types who are attracted to the mountain climbing up North. The non Pakistani who is into world travel, Pakistan is more than likely not on his list. India is more thank likely there, maybe not the first or second, but definetly on there.

Re: Incredible India?

the next step is to relate these things to things and activities that tourists can see and do…the tourist attractions. how does this history translate to interesting things for tourists to see?

India isn’t any massive tourism hotspot, but it has enjoyed solid foreign tourism for a long time because there are specific tourist attractions like Taj Mahal (in the “golden triangle” of tourist cities), beaches of Goa, temples of South India, forts and palaces of Rajasthan, resorts of Kerala, Kashmir valley (during better days), etc.

i’ve never been to Pakistan, but off the top of my head i can’t think of any such specific attractions. but i am curious, so i’d like to hear your comments.

but i would say the bigger problem Pakistan faces is simply an image problem…instead of a tourist seeing it as “exotic foreign country”, it is more likely to be seen as “dangerous muslim country”.

the other thing is that India probably eats any potential tourist business to Pakistan simply because much of what Pakistan has to offer (at least in the eyes of a tourist) - meaning desi culture and food, desi people, bustling south asian cities, etc. are all available in next door in India.

Re: Incredible India?

millions of tourists from India & pakistan would visit each other - if only the visa's were made easy.
