how can i increase my internet speed when i m using faster net but still not giving me enough speed
specialy when downloding or loading movies etc…how to avoid long buferring or can i boost up buferring?

wifi 54.0 and dsl cable 100 mbps is same speed ?

Your download speed is not just limited to your Internet speed, but by many other factors , like your router's speed, how far are you from your router, both in case of wired and wireless connection, your browser, how many devices are connected to your network and such

and how many apps have been downloaded by your kids and husband are are running simultaneously in the background :D!

Sometimes hardware itsself is the bottle neck. What box are you using?

Wifi starts off about half speed of a wired connection and then it goes downhill. If you have 2 computers connected they both share the same 54mbps and so get 27 and so on. The bandwidth to the place, server, where you're downloading from depends on where the slowest connection is. If your connection is slow, the download slows down. If their connection is slow the download slows down and so on. In short fastest speed is at the level of the slowest point.

  1. Buffering is calculated by how long the computer thinks it needs to download before playing the video, so it doesn't get stuck

  2. Ethernet cable is the colored (or grey) cable which gets connected between network switch/router and your computer's Network Interface Card (NIC) which gets you connected to other computers on the network.
