or just media hyping it up?
I don’t think that I’ve been able to surf through CNN even one day this week without hearing of at least one gun crime. Is this normal? Is the media just hyping things up and bringing stories to the forefront with an agenda or is there really in increase?

BTW they gave up on major part of automatic-weapons while planning anti-gun legislation.
$$ are more important then children.
Re: Increase in Gun Crime in the US?
Media is definitely not hyping it up.
In fact, we are under-hyping this up. I’ve never understood how you can just go to a Walmart in US and own a gun - especially when mental health concerns are ubiquitous.
Re: Increase in Gun Crime in the US?
When the level of gun related violence is high to begin with, there does not have to be an increase in order for such news to gain increased traction. At some point, the cumulative effect reaches critical mass.
The only agenda the voices against gun violence have is to stop the senseless killing. Monk’s post was bulls eye.
Re: Increase in Gun Crime in the US?
Other day I was listening to the radio(off course not main stream)
There was this woman on, who was leading person in Australia’s efforts of controlling guns.
Them have same issue year after year, school/public shootings. Till in 90s there was some thing like 35 people killed.
Australian’s were too gun loving nation.
But evey one got hurt then, there Olympic shooting team came out saying “this is too much/unnecessary fire power given in the hands of people”
Then they worked on it, since then there is no shooting!!!
It not that people in US don’t know how, they just dont.
